Jamie Lynn Spears’ Baby Daddy in Car Wreck

Britney Spears’ almost-but-not-really brother-in-law has a cracked skull. At least that’s what one media source is reporting. Casey Aldridge, the father of Jamie Lynn Spears’ 10-month-old daughter Maddie, was reportedly injured in a car accident early Sunday morning. According to police reports, the 19-year-old was driving his Ford F-250 truck when he lost control around 1:30 this morning, and drove off the shoulder of a Louisiana highway. Police say Aldridge’s truck flipped over and he and his three passengers sustained injuries. There are conflicting reports on the severity of the teen father’s injuries. One report claims Aldridge suffered a “cracked … Continue reading

Clay Aiken is Going to be a Daddy

Pigs haven’t learned how to fly and the hottest place imaginable has not frozen over… It’s the absolute truth: Clay Aiken is going to be a father. At least according to a rep for the brother of the woman who is pregnant with the “America Idol” runner up’s spawn. A rep for mega music mogul David Foster confirmed to TMZ.com that Aiken impregnated Foster’s sister, music producer Jaymes Foster. “It is true Clay is the father,” according to Foster’s rep. “Jaymes was artificially inseminated by Clay. She’s due in August.” I know. It takes a few minutes to process, doesn’t … Continue reading

Hello, Readers. As you’ve probably noticed, I’ve been a little preoccupied lately and for this I apologize. Larry’s The Daddy—Now What?

If you haven’t already heard the “earth-shattering” news—according to news reports, DNA test results revealed yesterday that Larry Birkhead is the father of Anna Nicole Smith’s daughter Dannielynn. Are you surprised? (Families.com members contributing to a “Who’s The Daddy” poll in the forums shouldn’t be—they pegged Birkhead as the father weeks ago.) Anna Nicole’s ex-boyfriend (well, one of them at least) turns out to be the 7-month-old’s biological father—so does this mean the end to the media madness over all things related to the former Playboy Playmate? And, what of Smith’s companion Howard K. Stern (the man listed on Dannielynn’s … Continue reading

Beyonce Can’t Catch a Break

Although young, beautiful and talented, it seems as if Beyonce simply cannot catch a break.  The singer gave birth to her first child, daughter Blue Ivy, last January.  But, before she gave birth, there was a rumor going around that she wasn’t really pregnant and that she had a surrogate carrying the baby after an Australian interview seemed to show her baby belly deflate upon sitting. Then, there was controversy over the fact that Beyonce and hubby Jay-Z reportedly dropped $1.3 million to reserve the entire floor of the Lenox Hospital where Blue Ivy was born.  Parents claimed that they … Continue reading

A Much Needed Family Outing Part III

After watching three different star shows, our son was ready to move on to a different exhibit.  Since we had gone to the science center several times without daddy (we took friends with us instead), our son had been talking about building rockets pretty regularly for the past several weeks.  In the physics based exhibit, there were lots of hands on activities including building rockets and launching them in competition against another rocket builder or rather launcher… I mostly see parents and nannies building rockets while the kids launch them. To date, our son has yet to build his own … Continue reading

Handling Your Child’s Questions About Your Divorce

It’s bound to happen; sooner or later your kids are going to start asking questions about your divorce. It’s only natural. Even if they were very young when the event took place, they are going to have questions about why their family is different than their friend’s. As a parent, this can be scary. Their questions likely don’t have easy answers and it can be hard to decide how to approach such a sensitive topic with them. Remember to keep your answers appropriate for your child’s age and maturity. When they are younger a simple answer such as, “Mommy and … Continue reading

Growing Up In a Step Family

It’s funny how society and social expectations change. When I was growing up I was the only child I knew that was being raised in a step parent family. My father was killed in Vietnam when I was three, I have no memory of him. When my father died my mother was 21, she had a three year old, an almost two year old, and one on the way. I can’t imagine being a widow at 21, with three kids, in a time when broken families were not the norm. I think about how much harder it must have been … Continue reading

Super Mom Snooki

Be afraid. Be very afraid. Rumors have been swirling for weeks, and now it appears that MTV’s resident smoosher is planning to go public with news that she’s got a mini meatball baking in her oven. Snooki, whose real name is Nicole Polizzi, is reportedly expecting her first child with… Well, isn’t that the million-dollar question? Okay, maybe not. But, the 24-year-old reality TV star is said to be raking in at least that much when she reveals her pregnancy and the ID of her baby daddy on her new MTV show– that’s not “Jersey Shore.” Snooki and fellow “Jersey … Continue reading

Who Are You and What Have You Done with my Child?

For a child who doesn’t handle change well, divorce can be a huge setback. They are experiencing so many changes all at once that they can easily be overwhelmed with the emotion of everything. As young children they have not yet learned how to express what they are feeling and as a result often lash out. This is common even in children whose parents are still together. However, a divorce is often the trigger because of the intensity of the changes that they are going through. I remember how hard those first few months were for my son. All of … Continue reading
