Just four short months after wife Tameka suffered cardiac arrest in Brazil reportedly during plastic surgery, Usher has filed for divorce. He filed the petition in Superior Court in Atlanta on Friday. The couple married in August 2007 after cancelling their July wedding. That November, the couple’s first son Usher Raymond V, was born. Tameka gave birth to their second son, Naviyd, last December. Many speculated that the cardiac arrest was due to having plastic surgery too soon after the birth of a child. Oprah, herself a victim of physical abuse, held a roundtable discussion on her show today and she offered some wise words of advice for Rihanna. The young star, who was beaten up by her boyfriend, singer Chris Brown, is said to have reunited with him at Diddy’s house in Miami. Steven Page Leaves Barenaked Ladies and LAPD Investigates Rihanna Photo Leak

In August 2008, I blogged about Barenaked Ladies lead singer Steven Page. He was arrested in July for possession of a controlled substance. The arrest caused the band to cancel an appearance at the Disney Music Block Party in New York. The charges against Page were eventually reduced to a misdemeanor in October 2008. Chris Brown Apologizes

A week after he made headlines for allegedly injuring his famous girlfriend Rihanna following a pre-Grammy Awards party, Chris Brown is showing signs of remorse. The 19-year-old R&B singer just released a public statement addressing his arrest for domestic violence. At 19, Chris Brown seemed to have it all but after an alleged weekend assault, he is quickly losing it. He was a part of the “Got Milk?” roster of celebrities, but has been dropped by Body by Milk campaign. Usher and Chris Brown Miss the Grammys

Last night was THE night for musical artists – the Grammy awards ceremony. But, two prominent R&B artists missed the ceremony for entirely different reasons. Usher’s wife, Tameka Raymond, is in a Brazilian hospital after suffering from a medical emergency. The singer’s spokesman Jeff O’Keefe released a statement Monday saying “Tameka Raymond is in stable condition after suffering complications from routine surgery in Brazil.” He added that Usher was with her, but wouldn’t release any further details and that the family was requesting privacy.
