“The Bachelor”–Beginnings and Endings

Let’s begin with the end… the end of “Bachelor” Matt Grant and Shayne Lamas’ engagement. C’mon people… did anyone out there think this union was going to lead to a stroll to the altar? Frankly, I can’t believe it lasted beyond the last rose ceremony. (I have serious doubts that it did.) Was the hook up on the down low or was the short and often-rocky relationship Grant and Lamas shared completely for show? Personally, I think it’s bad enough that they tried to milk their 15 minutes of fame for as long as they did without having to release … Continue reading

Trista Gives new “Bachelorette” Marriage Advice

I will say this… at least she’s still married. Yes, I give credit to Trista Sutter, the original “Bachelorette” who found her Prince Charming in husband Ryan Sutter in front of an audience filled with naysayers, and then went on to marry him in front of millions more on national TV. The Sutters are not only still married, but they are also parents to a 1-year-old son Max, who lives with the couple in Vail, Colorado far from the media glare and the Hollywood rumor mill that constantly churns out stories of infidelities and break-ups. Trista’s happy ending apparently inspired … Continue reading

Catching Up with Reality Stars

There were two reality star weddings recently. The Velvet Teddy Bear, Ruben Studdard, married his girlfriend Surata Zuri McCants last Saturday at the Canterbury United Methodist Church in Birmingham, AL. More than 300 guests attended the wedding, all dressed in black and white. Ruben and his 20 groomsmen wore black tuxes while the bride wore a white and ivory Casablanca wedding gown. After the 30-minute ceremony, the newlyweds left for the reception at the Rosewood Hall at SoHo Square in Homewood. McCants and Studdard married when McCants showed up at an Atlanta Wal-Mart CD signing in 2006. McCant volunteered to … Continue reading

She’s Keeping the Ring

I’m not surprised. In a previous blog I reported that Shayne Lamas and her British fiance from “The Bachelor: London Calling,” Matt Grant, decided to end their engagement. No shock there given that most viewers didn’t buy that they were a couple from the start. Regardless, the question remained: What would happen to the 2.85-carat Tacori platinum-and-diamond eternity ring that Grant presented to Lamas on bended knee during the reality TV show’s season finale? According to a new interview, the 22-year-old daughter of actor Lorenzo Lamas says she has every intention of keeping the ring. Did anyone think she would … Continue reading

Feeling Pressure to be in a Relationship

Society places all different types of pressures on its members. There are social pressures, academics pressures, material pressures, and even relationship pressures. In some cases, these pressures tend to overcome a person’s good sense of reasoning. The pressures become so strong that one gives into them. This happens in many cases with relationship pressures. You may feel relationship pressure from society for many different reasons. If you have a group of friends in which all are married or part of a couple, you may feel pressure to also find someone for yourself. Age also can place a large amount of … Continue reading

“Better Single than Sorry”

Recently while my family and I were visiting the library I skimmed through and found a book that caught my eye. That book, “Better Single than Sorry”, is written by Jen Schefft. Some of you may remember Jen from being the “winner” of the Bachelor television show. She split with Andrew, the one who choose her, and later was the star of the Bachelorette. That show did not produce true love for her either. The main purpose of Jen’s book is to let women know that they are better off single than with the wrong man. To the world Andrew … Continue reading

Hitched and Ditched in Hollywood

HITCHED Eat your heart out Jen. It didn’t happen with a slew of TV cameras around… but it’s still official. “The Bachelor” is now off the market. Well, one of them anyway. Andrew Firestone, who starred in the third season of ABC’s hit reality TV series “The Bachelor” got hitched Saturday… to a woman who had nothing to do with the show that made him famous. Firestone married Serbian model and actress Ivana Bozilovic in a private ceremony at St. Mark’s in the Valley Episcopal Church in Los Olivos, the California town where his family’s winery is based. The marriage … Continue reading

Will The Birth Be Televised?

They met on television, courted on television, married before one of the largest television audiences in ABC’s history, and now the question is: “Will Ryan and Trista Sutter (of “The Bachelorette” fame) allow television cameras in the delivery room when they have their first child this summer? Oh, didn’t you hear? Trista is pregnant. After two years of trying the nation’s first televised “Bachelorette” is officially with child. “We are so happy,” Trista recently told PEOPLE Magazine. According to the magazine, Trista is currently 14 weeks along, but doesn’t know the gender of the baby. “I’ve had horrendous morning sickness,” … Continue reading
