Star Updates: Gisele Bundchen and Farrah Fawcett

It looks as though Gisele Bundchen may finally be getting her ultimate wish. Reports say that the supermodel is expecting her first child with husband Tom Brady. In other news, Bridget Moynahan is hoping that once Bundchen gives birth she will leave her 18-month-old son with Brady alone. I know a few people who’ll drink to that. You’ll recall that Brady dumped Moynahan right before she discovered she was pregnant with his child. The football star then hooked up with Bundchen, and the two recently got hitched twice-—once in California, and again, last month in Costa Rica. The Victoria’s Secret … Continue reading

Farrah Fawcett Back in Hospital and Michelle Obama Back on TV–Maybe

Farrah Fawcett is facing yet another setback in her long battle against cancer. According to reports, the 62-year-old former “Charlie’s Angels” star is back in a Los Angeles hospital. Several papers are reporting that the actress was admitted Thursday with complications associated with cancer. The TV star was first diagnosed with the insidious disease in 2006 and has undergone chemotherapy and aggressive experimental treatments in the years since. Fawcett received good news when her cancer went into remission several months after her initial diagnosis, but the disease returned in 2007 leading the beauty to seek alternative treatments in Germany. Fawcett’s … Continue reading

Kelly Bundy has cancer. The 36-year-old “Samantha Who?” star is reportedly undergoing treatment in Los Angeles and doctors say she should expect a full recovery. Applegate’s rep told news reporters that the actress was fortunate that her cancer was detected very early thanks to a MRI. The rep also noted that Applegate’s cancer is “not life threatening.” The world will get to see how well Applegate is responding to her cancer treatments … Continue reading

TV Stars Returning to the Small Screen

Michael J. Fox and Katie Holmes are retuning to their roots—the good ol’ boob tube. Producers of FX’s “Rescue Me,” say Fox will make his return to series TV with a four-episode guest role on the popular drama. But don’t expect the 47-year-old actor to be running around like his former “Family Ties” and “Spin City” characters. Show producers say on “Rescue Me,” Fox will play a wheelchair bound “very funny, very original character.” Fox’s character is the new boyfriend of Denis Leary’s character Tommy’s estranged wife Janet (Andrea Roth) and will be introduced in the fifth-season premiere next spring. … Continue reading

“Dancing with the Stars” News

Okay, maybe I’m a bit out of the loop, but when I heard that current “Dancing with the Stars” contestant Marissa Jaret Winokur (she’s the one who can’t stop smiling) was expecting her first baby in a few months I wondered why in the world she was shaking and shimming on the hit TV show. Then I found out that a surrogate mother is carrying the baby. AHA! So, to set the record straight the 35-year-old Broadway star and her husband, “King of the Hill” writer Judah Miller, are indeed expecting their first child and say they were lucky enough … Continue reading

Patrick Swayze’s Battle with Cancer

The bad news: The “Dirty Dancing” and “Ghost” star has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The good news: According to Patrick Swayze’s doctor, the actor “has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far.” It’s not everyday that a celeb’s doctor releases a statement to the media, but apparently some news outlets have been erroneously reporting that Swayze was given a year to live while others noted that the actor has been hit with serious side effects and was bedridden. All of which is untrue, according to Swayze’s physician. In fact … Continue reading

Farrah Vs. Cancer—Round Two

There are two things about hearing that Farrah Fawcett’s cancer had returned that really set me off and both involve the press (more accurately, the tabloid press). Before I proceed with my rant, for those of you who don’t normally follow celebrities’ health concerns, former “Charlie’s Angels” star Farrah Fawcett was diagnosed with anal cancer in September 2006. After undergoing both chemotherapy and surgery she was declared cancer-free three months ago. But, sadly, just a few days ago she learned that the cancer had returned. According to Fawcett’s close friend, the actress got the news after a routine three-month checkup … Continue reading

Farrah’s Battle With Cancer

I first reported that actress and 70’s icon Farrah Fawcett is battling cancer in my Celebrity News Week in Review for October 2, 2006 blog, but I figured this deserved more than just a note in a review blog. Farrah, once known for playing a beautiful “angel” on television, will need her own angels to look over her after being diagnosed with intestinal cancer. Fifty nine year old Farrah has had a tumor removed, but will still undergo radiation and chemotherapy treatment. Farrah is not the only star of 70’s show “Charlie’s Angels” to fight cancer. Jaclyn Smith and Kate … Continue reading

Prince Harry Preps for Trip to U.S. and “Survivor” Winner Preps for More Chemo

Prince Harry is prepping to horse around in the Big Apple this weekend. Only his plans don’t include his on-again, off-again girlfriend Chelsy Davy. Rather, the youngest son of the late Princess Diana will be hitting the polo field for a fundraising event for his Sentebale charity for African children. The polo game marks Prince Harry’s first-ever formal visit to the United States. While in America the royal spare will participate in the second annual Veuve Clicquot Manhattan Polo Classic on New York’s historic Governors Island. The match will pit the 24-year-old prince against polo hottie Nacho Figueras. Despite the … Continue reading

Let the Dancing Begin!

Finally! After a long summer my toe-tapping, tutu wearing, twirling toddler (okay, she’s more preschooler than toddler) will once again get to shimmy and shake with the best of them. ABC’s hit show “Dancing with the Stars” kicks off its seventh season next month and now we know, which celebs will be waltzing their way to that hideous mirror ball trophy. Take a look: Toni Braxton–The 41-year-old Grammy Award-winner has been paired with season one “DWTS” champ Alec Mazo. Lance Bass– The 29-year-old former ‘N SYNC singer will be two-stepping with Lacey Schwimmer a new addition to DWTS. (You might … Continue reading
