Tom Hanks Aids Italian Bride and Other Celebrities Heading Down the Aisle

Talk about a dream wedding...

What blushing bride wouldn't want Tom Hanks escorting her to the church on her wedding day?

Sure, it would be even nicer if the hilarious actor were the one you were getting hitched to, but something is better than nothing.

An Italian bride had the privilege of not only getting a Hanks escort, but the mega-movie star actually stopped production on his new film just so she could make it to the church in time to tie the knot.

According to British newspapers, Hanks played a real life hero this week by halting filming on his new movie to aid a bride in distress.

The actor is currently filming Da Vinci Code sequel Angels and Demons in Rome, Italy. Reports say crews were shooting scenes outside a medieval church in the center of the city when Hanks spotted the panicked bride trying to navigate her way around the movie cameras.

Witnesses say when Hanks saw the woman dressed in her traditional white wedding dress complete with a 9-foot long train and flowing veil trying to make her way around film crews on the arm of her father he immediately halted filming and rushed over to help. Photos show Hanks gathering the bride's train, taking the woman on his arm, and escorting her and her father across the set to meet the groom inside the church.

Actress Salma Hayek might not be escorted down the aisle by Hanks, but according to reports, that's not stopping her from finally tying the knot with her businessman fiancé Francois-Henri Pinault.

New reports say the couple, who became parents to a daughter Valentina Paloma last year, is planning to wed in St. Tropez later this summer.

Hayek and Pinault met in April 2006 but their romance only became public in 2007.

The 41-year-old Mexican actress has said on many occasions that she would not marry the French millionaire until she felt it was the right time.

I guess the time is finally right.

Finally, the wait is over for music mogul Timbaland and his girlfriend of two years Monique Idlett.

According to their rep, the couple plans to wed in Aruba on June 19th.

Timbaland and Idlett have been engaged since last October and have a seven-month-old daughter.
