Tom Cruise Loves… Tom Cruise

If you want something done right you should do it yourself. It’s a philosophy Tom Cruise appears to subscribe to. The movie star just launched a new website devoted to… well, himself. I know what you’re thinking: There are thousands of narcissistic entertainers in Hollywood and Cruise surely is not the first to create a website for fans. You’re right, but Cruise’s new entry on the World Wide Web is of particular interest because he more than just about any celebrity has been the subject of numerous YouTube-able moments in the past couple of years. Do you realize how many … Continue reading

Tom Cruising Back to Oprah’s Couch

Oprah Winfrey’s staff has had nearly three years to get the shoe prints off the expensive couch Tom Cruise jumped on while expressing his affections for Katie Holmes. Back then the two had just begun dating. Now Cruise and Holmes are married and the parents to 2-year-old daughter Suri. And you can expect to hear all about the Cruise clan when Tom returns to “The Oprah Winfrey Show” next week. Though, luckily for cleaning crews they won’t need to work overtime to stain guard the show’s furniture since producers say the first of the two-part interview was taped at the … Continue reading

Tom Cruise—”Hero” To Some 9/11 Emergency Workers

In a previous blog I wrote about Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ new Louisiana home. It seems the couple is taking a detour getting there—-for good reason. According to news reports, Cruise is in Manhattan tonight raising money for New York police, firefighters and paramedics affected by the events of September 11th. His appearance (Holmes was also supposed to attend) was not billed as a surprise since the charity he is trying to raise money for—-the New York Rescue Workers Detoxification Project—-is a program he co-founded in 2002. It’s no surprise (at least to those who know Cruise) that the … Continue reading

Mystery Shopping: Cruises and Resorts

So, you want to shop a cruise or a resort. You’re thinking it would be a great vacation for you and/or your family. Wrong. Cruises and resorts are two of the most detailed shops there are. They do pay very well in many cases, but they require a lot. You won’t be relaxing, you’ll be working. Like the amusement park shops, some of them may allow you to bring your family, so you’ll essentially be working so that they can enjoy themselves. Do not ever schedule a shop like this on a vacation. It’s simply not doable. Mystery shopping is … Continue reading

I Now Pronounce You Mr. and Mrs. TomKat

The wait is finally over. It’s official: Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are now legally husband and wife (though, they may have been for a while now—more on that later). According to their spokesperson, the couple exchanged vows Saturday in front of more than 150 guests at the Odescalchi Castle in Lake Bracciano, Italy. Details on the ceremony are slowly being leaked to the media. Here’s what has been released so far: Holmes was walked down the aisle by her dad, Martin. She wore “an off-the-shoulder Armani gown with a train in ivory silk cadis adorned in Valenciennes lace and … Continue reading

Apply to be a Disney Mom (or Disney Dad)

What’s the ultimate goal of many Disney fanatics? See all the films and television shows? Visit all the parks? Work for the company, at one of the parks or even in the movie division? I know for many, it’s the latter. A lucky few are qualified to really work in making magic: to be an animator, or an Imagineer. Many of us just don’t have the skill set to do much. What kind of job could knowing everything about the Disney parks get us? How about a seat on the Disney Moms Panel? You don’t actually get paid to be … Continue reading

Wreck-It Ralph Brings Gaming to the Movies

How have I not heard of this before now? Disney has a new animated movie coming out November 2, called “Wreck It Ralph.” I’d seen that title before in a list of upcoming movies, and I knew it had something to do with an arcade, but I didn’t know that 1) it was coming out so soon and 2) that it sounded so awesome. I have to say I’ve been a little hesitant about any animated film coming out of Disney lately that isn’t either a fairy tale film or from Pixar. I love “Emperor’s New Groove” and “Lilo & … Continue reading

Summer Lovin’: Cruise and Redstone

So much for the much-hyped Hollywood divorce. It appears mega movie star Tom Cruise and mega movie mogul Sumner Redstone have decided to kiss and make up. You’ll recall the two power brokers parted ways in 2006 after 14 years together. Redstone, the executive chairman and controlling shareholder of Viacom Inc., and Cruise went through a bitter and very public split in the summer of 2006 when the movie guru kicked the actor and his producing partner off the Paramount Pictures lot (Viacom is Paramount’s parent company) and ended their multi-million dollar deal to develop projects for the studio. Well, … Continue reading

Hit Me Baby One More Time

They’re baaaack! Two of Hollywood’s biggest stars are returning to the big screen in roles that gave their egos–and their banks accounts–big lifts. First up, Tom Cruise. Suri’s daddy is planning to flex his muscles again in a fourth Mission: Impossible flick. Several news sources have confirmed that Cruise is heading back to Paramount to make the sequel. In doing so the movie star has presumably made amends with studio mogul, Sumner Redstone, the Hollywood movie bigwig who dropped Cruise’s production company from Paramount a couple years back. The nasty split made headlines and prompted Cruise to revamp the United … Continue reading
