I’ve already blogged about the Winchester Mystery House, the Whaley House, and the Robertson County, Tennessee, the home of the Bell Witch. America’s Most Haunted House?

Did you know there are houses that are listed as authentic haunted houses by the U.S. government? I didn’t either until we visited the Whaley House in San Diego. The United States Department of Commerce has named the Whaley House as one of the thirty homes across the country that they believe to be haunted. Another house certified as haunted is the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose. One of my favorite times of year is quickly approaching – Halloween! A couple of years ago, I did a series on haunted places in America in honor of the holiday and decided to do a few more this year. The Haunting of the Battleship North Carolina

I love a good ghost story and I stumbled upon one this weekend. My best friend Ralph came into town and he likes to see historical sites, so we decided to visit the Battleship North Carolina in Wilmington. Once on board, I realized why I never joined the Navy. I am sure modern day ships are quite different, but this relic from World War II was crowded, dark, and a bit creepy. What’s TGIFT and why do I use it? Because on days like to day I still say TGIF or Thank God it’s Friday, but I add the Thirteenth.
