The Return Of Indiana Jones

Fans of Indiana Jones’ movies (“Raiders of the Lost Ark,” “Temple of Doom” and “The Last Crusade”) have reason to celebrate today. Actor Harrison Ford (who played Indiana Jones in all three movies) has announced that he feels “fit to continue” to play the adventurous character in a fourth film. The 64-year-old actor made the announcement at the inaugural Rome Film Festival; despite he says his “advancement in years.” Ford told reporters he was delighted to team up again with directors Steven Spielberg and George Lucas for the film. (Lucas co-wrote and executive produced the earlier films, which Spielberg directed.) … Continue reading

You may have seen the movie “The Expendables” when it hit the theaters last year. It is definitely an action movie, and it featured a lot of big name, famous, actors. All action movies end up being covered by one insurance company or another, for obvious reasons. Right now, the production company that made “The Expendables” is fighting with their insurance company. Alta Vista Productions is the name of the production company that made the movie called “The Expendables”. Some of the action stars involved in the movie are big name action stars that most people would immediately recognize. These … Continue reading

Actors that Turned Down Iconic Roles – Part Three

Okay, I promise I will stop after this one! I just find it fascinating to think of certain actors in certain roles: John Cusack as John Bender in The Breakfast Club? No doubt that Judd Nelson was perfect in this role, but how would John Cusack have faired? It certainly didn’t hurt his career to miss this role. Judd Nelson on the other hand… Bruce Willis as Sam Wheat in Ghost? Yep, apparently this one was given to Bruce Willis to read first, but he thought playing a ghost would be bad for his career. Wait, didn’t he play a … Continue reading

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Reinvents Himself – Part I

We have a WWE clock in our garage that my husband has had for at least eight years. Every once in while when I am coming in from the car, I heard The Rock say “Can you smell what The Rock is cooking?” In case you haven’t noticed, what The Rock is cooking up is a new image for himself. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has gone from WWE superstar to movie star in a small amount of time and very successfully, I might add. He is even getting a new name – his old one. If you look at the … Continue reading

“Indy” No. 5 in the Works?

The long awaited fourth film in the Indiana Jones series just hit the big screen 48 hours ago and already there’s buzz that No. 5 is in the works. Chalk it up to George Lucas’ loose lips. The world-famous moviemaker spilled the beans at France’s Cannes Film Festival earlier this week. Lucas said he is hatching a plan to bring action hero Indiana Jones back for a fifth installment of the movie series regardless of how the current flick, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, does at the box office. Lucas, who joined forces with director Steven … Continue reading

New Indiana Jones Movie Brings in $25 Million on Opening Day

In case you have not heard, there was a small film that opened this week called Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Of course, I am kidding – the fourth installment of the Indiana Jones series has been highly anticipated by fans since Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade was released in 1989. Yes, I said 1989 – it has been almost 20 years since Indiana Jones has graced the big screen. However, it must have seemed like yesterday to the fans. On the opening day, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull raked in … Continue reading

Musicians Getting and Giving Aid

GETTING AID At 26 years old you’d think singer Isaac Hanson would be in the prime of his life. However, the guitarist for the all-brother group Hanson recently came close to losing it all during a concert in Dallas. That’s when he says his shoulder started swelling and his right arm became numb. “Having had this happen before, I started to be really suspicious of what it was,” Hanson told reporters. “In the middle of the show, I said to someone: ‘We may need to go to the hospital.’ ” Hanson was able to make it through the show, but … Continue reading

Movie Milestones – 25 Year Anniversaries – Continued

Okay, in a previous blog, I was talking about movies that turn 25 this year. Twenty-five years – it seems like only yesterday I was watching these favorites of mine at the theater! First Blood If you didn’t get enough Sylvester Stallone in Rocky III in 1982, you certainly must have gotten your fill with his then-new character, John Rambo, in First Blood. John was just a Vietnam vet who just wanted to be left alone, but the town police wouldn’t let that happen and he unleashed all his Green Beret experience upon them. If you enjoy a film with … Continue reading

Celebs Gone Wild: Faustino, Stallone, and Hilton

Okay, perhaps they aren’t really going wild, but they are certainly suffering misfortunes of their own doing. First up, David Faustino, former child actor who played Bud Bundy in “Married With Children” has a few things to deal with on his plate. In February, he filed for divorce from his wife of three years, Andrea. As if that weren’t enough to deal with, now he had been arrested on marijuana and disorderly intoxication charges. David was actually with his estranged wife Andrea in New Smyrna Beach, Florida last week. The couple was at an intersection when the police noticed Faustino … Continue reading

Juicy Hollywood Tidbits – May 14, 2007

The Terminator Without Schwarzenegger? Two entrepreneurs, Victor Kubicek and Derek Anderson, have bought the rights to the film franchise “Terminator” and have said they are planning a fourth installment, which will hit the theaters in 2009. Of course, we all know that the original Terminator, former body builder Arnold Schwarzenegger, is currently the governor of California, so it is unlikely he will appear in the upcoming film. So what is a Terminator movie without the Terminator? Kubicek and Anderson have said this film will concentrate on the character John Connor, as he tries to save mankind. The character has been … Continue reading
