New Indiana Jones Movie Brings in $25 Million on Opening Day

In case you have not heard, there was a small film that opened this week called Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Of course, I am kidding – the fourth installment of the Indiana Jones series has been highly anticipated by fans since Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade was released in 1989. Yes, I said 1989 – it has been almost 20 years since Indiana Jones has graced the big screen. However, it must have seemed like yesterday to the fans. On the opening day, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull raked in … Continue reading

The 64-year-old actor made the announcement at the inaugural Rome Film Festival; despite he says his “advancement in years.” Ford told reporters he was delighted to team up again with directors Steven Spielberg and George Lucas for the film. (Lucas co-wrote and executive produced the earlier films, which Spielberg directed.) … Continue reading

Celebrities and Commencement Season

It’s graduation time, and there’s no better way to draw attention to your school’s commencement ceremony than to invite a big name celebrity to address students. This year is no different with Oprah heading to Duke University to inspire the graduating class of 2009 to never give up on their dreams. Easy for her to say. In addition, President Barack Obama made it through his commencement address to students at The University of Notre Dame, despite protestors who disagree with his stance on abortion. Meanwhile, in New England, basketball star, Larry Bird and legendary movie director Steven Spielberg were the … Continue reading

Actors that Turned Down Iconic Roles – Part One

Actors that Turned Down Iconic Roles – Part One Yesterday, I was reading at MSNBC how Nicholas Cage was once considered for the role of Randy “The Ram” Robinson in The Wrestler. In case you’ve been living in a cave, this was a role that went to ourke and resurrected his career, despite his losing the Best Actor Oscar this year to Sean Penn. Apparently, there had been rumors circulating that Cage was “let go” from the movie, but he cleared that up at the premiere of his newest movie Knowing. “I wasn’t quote “dropped” from the movie,” Cage told … Continue reading

Shia LaBeouf’s Hand Damaged in Wreck

You probably heard that actor Shia LaBeouf was involved in a car wreck late last Sunday. His truck, in which his Transformers sequel Revenge of the Fallen co-star Isabel Lucas was a passenger, flipped over as in a West Hollywood intersection as he tried to make a left turn. At first, officials believed that LaBeouf had been drinking and caused the wreck. However, it has been determined that the other driver was negligent when he or she ran a red light. While that may get LaBeouf off the hook legally, it seems as if things are not well at all. … Continue reading

Not again… People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) poster girl Pamela Anderson is once again making headlines for her unique approach to raising funds for the animal rights charity. The long awaited fourth film in the Indiana Jones series just hit the big screen 48 hours ago and already there’s buzz that No. 5 is in the works. Chalk it up to George Lucas’ loose lips. The world-famous moviemaker spilled the beans at France’s Cannes Film Festival earlier this week. Lucas said he is hatching a plan to bring action hero Indiana Jones back for a fifth installment of the movie series regardless of how the current flick, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, does at the box office. Lucas, who joined forces with director Steven … Continue reading
