Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher to Divorce

Cougars all over the world are stunned – their shining example of what cougarhood can be has come to an end. After rumors swirled that Ashton Kutcher had cheated on wife Demi Moore, the two announced their divorce this week. The pair has almost always turned heads since they began dating in 2003, when Moore was 41-years-old and Kutcher was barely out of diapers. Okay, he was actually 25-years-old. But, Moore’s oldest daughter, Rumer is just 10 years younger than Kutcher. While not many batted an eyelash when Anthony Quinn married a women 48 years younger than him or Sammy … Continue reading

Disney STEP Classic

I never realized Disney had so many opportunities for youth until I started writing about them. In fact, there’s a whole subsection of the company devoted to the concept: Disney Youth Programs. Someday soon I’ll have to spend a while on its official website and tell you all about it, but for now I want to focus on something specific: Disney STEP Classic. The 2012 dates for the Disney STEP Classic performances have just been announced, so now’s the time to sign up and start preparing if you or someone you know is interested. But for those not in the … Continue reading

In Memoriam – 2009 – Part 1

Each year, we lose so many famous people. Here are a few that died in 2009: January 1 – Jett Travolta (16) Although not a celebrity himself, Jett was the son of John Travolta and Kelly Preston, who tragically died on the first day of the New Year while vacationing with his parents in The Bahamas. The death certificate listed cause of death as a seizure. January 13 – Patrick McGoohan (80) McGoohan was the star of ‘60s shows “Danger Man” and “The Prisoner.” He also starred as Edward Longshanks in Braveheart. He died after a brief illness. January 14 … Continue reading

It’s Twins for Molly Ringwald and a Break Up for Prince Harry

Falling under my “Better Her than Me” category, I just read that actress and ‘80s sensation Molly Ringwald is expecting twins. I find it hard to believe that the Ringwald is even old enough to have children. Yes, I know, I probably watched Sixteen Candles and The Breakfast Club too much, but the now 40 year old Ringwald is expecting twins with her husband Panio Gianopoulos. The couple already has a five year old daughter Mathilda Ereni. Right now, Molly is starring in the ABC Family show “The Secret Life of the American Teenager,” which deals with teen pregnancy. Molly … Continue reading

Sacha Baron Cohen Punks Arkansas

Let me start this blog out by saying I once lived in Arkansas when my dear husband was a recruiter. And, the people there don’t mess around and from what I saw, don’t particular like to be pranked. However, that is just what Sacha Baron Cohen of Borat fame seems to have done. Fans bought tickets to what they thought was a cage fight which offered $1 beers, but that isn’t what they got. Once the fans arrived to the Fort Smith convention center on June 5th, they didn’t get the “Blue Collar Brawlin” they expected, but two guys who … Continue reading

Celebrity Marriage Woes

After Mariah and Ashley’s big, fairytale weddings, there are more celebrities divorcing. It seems to be a never-ending cycle! Ally Sheedy Actress Ally Sheedy, who was a member of the Brat Pack in the Eighties, has separated from her husband, actor David Lansbury. If his last name sounds familiar, it is because he is the nephew of veteran actress Angela Lansbury. Ally and David married on October 10, 1992. Their daughter Rebecca was born two years later. While the couple has confirmed the split, it seems to be amicable. Ally’s parents divorced when she was young and she spent half … Continue reading

The End of an Era: Joey Bishop Dies

I like to pride myself on keeping up to date on the news. After all, I am constantly online. But somehow, I missed this story until today! Joey Bishop, the last official member of the Rat Pack, died Wednesday at the age of 89. With the last Rat Packer dead, it is truly the end of one cool era. The Rat Pack – Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Peter Lawford, Sammy Davis, Jr., and Joey Bishop (with unofficial female member Shirley Maclaine) – ruled Las Vegas during the 60s. They also ruled the big screen, appearing together in films such as … Continue reading

The Rat Pack, the Brat Pack, the Frat Pack?

I will admit that I only vaguely remember the Rat Pack. In fact, it is the most vague of memories and most don’t include all four members of the Rat Pack (Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, and Joey Bishop), but rather the members of the Rat Pack in separate endeavors. But, that doesn’t mean that I cannot appreciate the ultimate coolness of the Rat Pack. When I’ve seen television footage of their Vegas show, they always seem like they are having such a great time together. And each person in the audience must have felt as … Continue reading
