The Golden Globes award ceremony will be on NBC on January 11th, provided there isn't another strike (and yes, there is a potential actors strike brewing). Today, we learned who might just win at the 66th annual Golden Globes.

For Best Drama, the race is between Brad Pitt's The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, the historical piece Frost/Nixon, The Reader (about a German lawyer, a woman he loves, and Nazi war crime trials), Revolutionary Road (based on the novel by Richard Yates about a couple in the '50s), and Slumdog Millionaire (about a Hindi orphan who stands to win 20 million rupees in the Indian version of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?").

For Best Comedy or Musical, there is Burn After Reading (which also stars Brad Pitt), Happy-Go-Lucky (about the life of a North London schoolteacher), In Bruges (which stars Colin Farrell), Mamma Mia! (about a bride-to-be trying to find her real father), and Vicky Christina Barcelona (a Woody Allen flick).

As for Actors in a Drama, Sean Penn was nominated for his role as Harvey Milk in Milk. Brad Pitt got a nomination for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Rounding out the top five are Leonardo DiCaprio for Revolutionary Road, Frank Langella for Frost/Nixon, and Mickey Rourke for The Wrestler.

Tom Cruise and Robert Downey Jr. both got Supporting Actor nods for Tropical Thunder. Also getting a Supporting Actor nomination was Heath Ledger for his role in The Dark Knight.

As for Actresses in a Drama, Angelina Jolie was nominated for Changeling, Anne Hathaway for Rachel Getting Married, Kristin Scott Thomas for I've Loved You Too Long, Kate Winslet for Revolutionary Road, and Meryl Streep for Doubt.

In fact, although Doubt was overlooked for Best Drama and Director, it did receive four acting nominations with one for Streep, one for Philip Seymour Hoffman, one for Amy Adams, and one for Viola Davis. Meryl Streep got another nomination for Mamma Mia!, making her a double threat as is Kate Winslet, who also scored a supporting nom for The Reader.

As for Best TV Comedy Series, cable shows dominated as "Californication," "Entourage," and "Weeds" go up against "30 Rock" and my personal favorite "The Office."
