I like to pride myself on keeping up to date on the news. After all, I am constantly online. But somehow, I missed this story until today! Joey Bishop, the last official member of the Rat Pack, died Wednesday at the age of 89. With the last Rat Packer dead, it is truly the end of one cool era. Evel Knievel Dead at 69

Legendary daredevil jumper Evel Knievel died today at the age of 69. He had been in bad shape for years, suffering from Hepatitis C, diabetes, and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Ah, when I was growing up, I loved Evel Knievel. Or maybe I really just loved George Hamilton after watching the 1971 movie Evel Knievel that starred George as Evel. Ailing Crooners

Singer Robert Goulet, 73, is heavily sedated and breathing through a respirator as he awaits a lung transplant. The doctors have told Goulet’s wife, Vera, that a lung transplant has the highest success rate (88 percent) of all transplants. However, a suitable donor for Goulet has not been found yet. The National Lung Association stated that in 2005, only 25% of the 3,500 people on the waiting list actually received a lung transplant.
