Who knew Donald Trump was a softie? The man whose acerbic comments made him Rosie O’Donnell’s No. 1 enemy is Ed McMahon’s new best friend. Or at least his landlord. The real estate mogul announced that he just shelled out more than $3 million to save Johnny Carson’s sidekick’s Beverly Hills mansion from foreclosure. I suppose when you own as many homes as Donald Trump you are bound to have a few neighbors who wish you weren’t part of the hood. Such is the case in California where the real estate mogul has once again upset his just-as-wealthy neighbors. According to news reports, this time the problem has to do with ficus trees. In what is being dubbed as a preemptive strike, real estate mogul turned reality TV star Donald Trump is not giving network executives at NBC the chance to fire him because—-he quit. Within hours of discovering his low-rated reality show “The Apprentice” was left off NBC’s new prime-time schedule Trump issued a statement that said he intended to “move on from ‘The Apprentice’ to a major new TV venture,” though he declined to elaborate. Move over Valerie Bertinelli there’s a new celebrity who wants to lose weight with Jenny Craig. According to reports, Phylicia Rashad is the latest actress to be plucked out of calorie-conscious Hollywood and named spokeswoman for Jenny Craig. Rashad, who is best know for her role as Bill Cosby’s on-screen wife, Clair on “The Cosby Show,” joins the Jenny Craig all-star sorority, which already includes stars such as Queen Latifah, Kirstie Alley and Bertinelli. The 46-year-old TV journalist shared the news on air and online this morning. “I didn’t want you to hear it from anyone else. … I have breast cancer, as my family here [at ABC] knows, and my family at home knows.
