The Chris Brown Fallout Continues and Motocross Mourns One of its Own

by Libby Pelham | More from this Blogger

At 19, Chris Brown seemed to have it all but after an alleged weekend assault, he is quickly losing it. He was a part of the "Got Milk?" roster of celebrities, but has been dropped by Body by Milk campaign. The company released a statement saying that it is "taking the allegations against Chris Brown very seriously" and it was very protective of its image.

But, that is not the only endorsement deal Brown has lost this week. Wrigley Chewing Gum stopped ads featuring Brown with Doublement gum. Brown had planned on participating in this weekend's All-Star Game festivities in Phoenix, but the NBA released a statement today saying he would not longer be attending. Although he and Rihanna both were scheduled to be at this Thursday's NAACP Image Awards as nominees, it is likely either will attend.

Signs are still pointing to the fact that it was in fact his girlfriend Rihanna who made the 911 call to police, saying Brown assaulted her. She was released from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in LA after being treated for bruises, cuts, and apparent bite marks. Rihanna has postponed her birthday party scheduled for Thursday in New York and a concert in Kuala Lampur, Malaysia.

It is rumored that the LAPD have presented a case against Brown, but prosecutors want further investigation.

I will admit that while I do not have the nerve to do the stunts people attempt in the X Games, I do love watching it. However, such extreme sports can also bring extreme injuries and even death. Today, motocross rider Jeremy Lusk, 24, died from head injuries he suffered after crashing in a Costa Rica competition two days ago.

Lusk, who had won a gold and silver medal at the 2008 X Games, failed to complete a full rotation Saturday night and landed headfirst. He was taken to the Calderon Hospital, but suffered from severe brain possibly spinal cord damage. Jeremy is survived by his parents and wife Lauren.
