When I first heard about The Artist, I wasn’t quite sure what to think about it. It was a French silent film. I wasn’t a big fan of French or silent films, other than a brief Clara Bow phase I went through. But, I am always up for something new, so one afternoon, I took off work and went to see The Artist. They say you haven’t lived until you’ve seen “Guys and Dolls.” They say you’re uneducated and sheltered. So I decided to come out of my shell and see it. I guess I’m now educated, but I confess, I’m not sure what all the hubbub’s about. Frank Sinatra is Nathan Detroit, a professional gambler who runs a floating crap game.
