Steven Segal Does Reality and Food Network Serves Up Two New Shows

Do you remember action hero Steven Segal? Well, he's back and this time, he is wielding a badge. That's right, Segal will star as a New Orleans crime fighter in his new reality show titled "Steven Segal: Lawman," which is set to premiere on A&E in late 2009. Segal is deputized by the Jefferson Parish County Sheriff's Department and he hopes to clean up the Big Easy, which has been left crime riddled since Hurricane Katrina. The show will also follow Segal as he tries to help rebuild the community. Segal said he is doing the show, in part, to show America the positive changes that are going on in New Orleans since the devastating hurricane.
Now, if you think Segal is just doing this because his film career has tanked, you would be wrong. Segal has actually has been deputized for the past 20 years and is said to work on the Jefferson Parish SWAT team as well as instruct other officers in firearms and hand-to-hand combat. Can you imagine some bad guy coming face to face with Segal and just being frightened by his on-screen image alone?
If you love reality shows on the Food Network, be sure to look for "Will Work for Food," premiering on January 19th. The show will be hosted by Adam Gertler. You may remember Adam as a finalist from the fourth season of "The Next Food Network Star." Food Network must have thought Adam had star material because they ordered this show just one week after he lost out to winner Aaron McCargo, Jr.
Adam will explore little-known jobs in the culinary field as well as talk to the people who perform these jobs. This includes jobs such as beekeepers and ice sculptors, but also people who search for truffles and dig wine caves.
And, if that isn't enough, check out the new reality competition show titled "Chopped" which is also appearing on the Food Network. I am a bit more excited about this one as it is hosted by former Queer Eye guy Ted Allen. It premieres on January 13th.
