Steve Martin Makes History and Sarah Palin Goes for Broke

There is just something about Steve Martin that makes me melt… like chocolate on a hot sidewalk. He is one of my favorite actors, and I am now counting down the days until he makes history on NBC. The super funnyman is set to host “Saturday Night Live” for a record 15th time on January 31st. This will be his first appearance in three years. I can’t wait! Martin is the reason I‘ve seen “Father of the Bride,“ Cheaper by the Dozen,” “The Jerk,” “All of Me” “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels,” “L.A. Story,” “Parenthood” and “Planes, Trains and Automobiles” more than … Continue reading

Juicy Hollywood Tidbits – July 24, 2007

Jon Lovitz Warns Andy Dick You probably know of Andy Dick’s woes with drugs. Apparently, that helped to ruin his friendship with Jon Lovitz. Last week at the Hollywood comedy club The Laugh Factory, Lovitz and Dick clashed and it was anything but funny. The two had a falling out over 10 years ago when Lovitz accused Dick of introducing mutual pal Phil Hartman’s wife to cocaine again. It was only a few months later that she killed Phil then shot herself. Lovitz said that a year ago, Dick threatened his life in a restaurant, saying, “I put the Phil … Continue reading

This Year’s Academy Awards

This Sunday is the 79th Annual Academy Awards. This year’s host will be Ellen Degeneres. I like Ellen – I think she is funny. I never cared to watch her talk show because I like her more as a stand up comedian, but I think she should fit in well as host. This is her first appearance as an Oscar host. As I started searching Families.com, I realized we had tons of blogs on Oscar’s previous hosts, previous winners, and this year’s nominees. Check some of these out: Blogs about former Oscar hosts: Chris Rock Chris Rock: Brooklyn’s Own Stand-Up … Continue reading

Another Celebrity Split – Anne Heche

Anne Heche has confirmed that she and Coley Laffoon, her hubby of five years, have split. Heche and Laffoon have one son, four-year-old Homer. There are rumors that Heche is seeing her “Men in Trees” costar James Tupper, who split from his wife last November, but there is no official word from the stars. Heche was one-half a highly publicized romance with Ellen DeGeneres during the late 90s. Their relationship came light after DeGeneres announced her sexuality. I think at the time, Heche had just broken up with Steve Martin. For a while, her identity as Ellen’s partner remained a … Continue reading
