He Said/She Said – Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan

Ah, the waters rarely run smoothly when Hollywood exes start opening up about their past relationship. I guess everyone cannot be one big, happily united family like Demi and Bruce. The latest celebrity ex couple to sling mud is Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid. (Photo source by PH2 Mark Cavanugh and as a work of an military member, is public domain.) You may or may not remember, but these two met on the set of Innerspace in 1987 and married on Valentine’s Day 1991. They had one child together, son Jack. You might remember the 2000 film Proof of Life, … Continue reading

“American Gladiators’” Mom has Her Daughter’s Twins

If the world didn’t known them from their appearance on NBC’s “American Gladiators” then this next move might just give them an extra 15 minutes of fame. Or at least it will give their newborn twins some serious press. When “Gladiator” contestant Kendra Sirignano was searching for a surrogate to carry her child she didn’t have to look very far. Her 52-year-old mom, who always said she would do anything for her daughter, volunteered for the job. And just a few days ago Crystal Sirignano delivered her own twin grandchildren, a boy and a girl. According to reports, the siblings … Continue reading

Celebrity Updates: It’s All About the Babies

Well, this explains a lot… Ever since Dennis Quaid’s newborn twins were accidentally given a near-fatal overdose of the blood thinner Heparin by staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles last fall I (along with millions of others) wondered why the actor chose not to sue the hospital for negligence. After all, Quaid and his wife took almost instant legal action against the drug maker for not labeling the blood thinner correctly. So, why let the hospital off the hook? The famous couple finally answered that question a few days ago. Apparently, the Quaid’s are not letting Cedars off … Continue reading

Celebrities Seeing Double

It looks like we may never know why Dennis Quaid decided not to sue the hospital responsible for employing the medical techs who nearly killed his newborn twins last year. Then again, actions often speak louder than words. It wasn’t until just recently that the actor spoke about the horrific incident with a reporter from the Los Angeles Times. In the interview he refused to answer questions regarding pending litigation that has been filed against the makers of heparin, the blood thinner that was inadvertently administered to Quaid’s newborn’s in massive doses. Rather, the actor said he wanted to focus … Continue reading

Laila Ali sure knows how to milk her 15 minutes of fame. The former “Dancing with the Stars” finalist has yet another new job—–she’s joining CBS’s “The Early Show” as a contributing correspondent starting next week. The boxing champ turned ballroom dancer recently got a new gig co-hosting “American Gladiators” and now she’s going big time by traveling the country for CBS in search of human-interest stories. Basically, Ali is going to be doing for “The Early Show” what celeb chef and resident pregnant hottie Giada De Laurentiis is doing for NBC’s “Today” show. CBS execs say the reason they … Continue reading

Celebrity Updates: Quaid’s Sue Drug Company

Who can blame them? It’s official; actor Dennis Quaid and his wife Kimberly have filed a lawsuit against the makers of heparin, the blood thinner that was inadvertently administered to their newborns in massive (and potentially deadly) doses. According to news reports, the Quaid’s filed a product liability lawsuit in Chicago and are seeking roughly $50,000 in damages. The suit claims the drug manufacturer, which is based in Illinois, was “negligent in packaging different doses of the product in similar vials with blue backgrounds.” The lawsuit further claims the company knew of previous dosage mix-ups yet failed to recall shipments … Continue reading

Hospital Error Nearly Kills Dennis Quaid’s Newborn Twins

It’s a parent’s worst nightmare… and Dennis Quaid and his wife are smack in the middle of it. As I mentioned in a previous blog, Quaid and his wife Kimberly welcomed twins into the world on November 8th. However, the joyous moment is now being eclipsed by a horrific incident. Quaid’s son Thomas Boone and daughter Zoe Grace were accidentally given a major dose of the blood thinner heparin during their stay at Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. According to news reports, the babies are currently in stable condition in the neo-natal intensive care unit at the hospital where they … Continue reading

Stars’ New Gigs—-Daddy, Model, TV Host

It’s been more than 15 years since he’s changed a diaper, but now those diaper-less days are a thing of the past. Actor Dennis Quaid is getting reacquainted with diaper duty now that he is the proud father of twins. Thomas Boone was born at 8:26 a.m. and weighed 6 lb. 12 oz., while Zoe Grace came two minutes later and weighed 5 lb. 9 oz.
