It’s hard to believe, but the adorable spawn of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes turns 3 on Saturday. Yup, Suri Cruise is getting to be a big girl, and now that she no longer clings to her bottle like a dryer sheet to a fuzzy sock, she’s headed off to school. Scientology school to be exact. According to reports, young Suri will attend the Church of Scientology’s $8,810 a year New Village Academy in Los Angeles in the fall. A British newspaper alleges Cruise is keen for his youngest child to learn the ways of his religion. But lest you … Continue reading

This wedding is thought to have cost $6.5 million. Now, I know Biel and Timberlake are young, beautiful, talented, and earned every bit … Continue reading

Uninsured Americans Get Dental Care From ER

What happens when an American needs a dentist, but doesn’t have dental insurance? Increasingly, the uninsured are waiting until they have a dental emergency, and then heading for the emergency room. I Am Legend (2007)

I Am Legend is not my typical movie. While I’m not fond of the science fiction genre, I am incredibly fond of spending time with my spouse and this was the choice du jour. So I settled in for what I thought would be an incredibly long two hours of science ‘sciencey’ boy stuff. While it’s still not my favorite movie, I do have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I Am Legend, is actually a movie based on the same titled book written by Richard Matheson. This is not the first movie that’s been based on this book but … Continue reading

Ready, Set, Watch!

Yesterday was the first official day of the 2007-08 TV season. This week is an especially critical time for networks as they unveil their newest contenders in the battle to win over as many viewers as possible. In a departure from years past this season’s new shows are straying from the reality genre and offering more of an escape from real life. Supernatural and science fiction genres featuring characters who use their “extraordinary” gifts to conquer the bad guys are getting the most buzz this season. In other words, several networks are hoping to share in the success of NBC’s … Continue reading

Marriage in the News: Covenant Marriages & Texas Legislation

This seems like some heavy subject material to bring up this morning, but this landed in my inbox and I couldn’t help but bring it up for discussion. Recently, I talked about the proposed marriage license legislation in Nebraska. The legislation proposes that for every couple who goes through 10 hours of marriage education then they would only need to pay $30 for a marriage license and if they don’t take the class, then they’ll need to pay $100 for their marriage license. I thought the idea was worth exploring as a model for its effect on marriage. I still … Continue reading
