Cynthia Nixon Settles Down and Woody Allen Settles

Cynthia Nixon, probably best known for playing Miranda on “Sex and the City,” has announced that she and her girlfriend of five years are engaged. Nixon, who has a son and daughter with former boyfriend Danny Mozes, met Christine Marinoni, an education activist, in early 2004 and the two began dating later that year. Nixon said that she never had an issue with her sexuality. After being in a fifteen year heterosexual relationship, she simply “met this woman” and “I fell in love with her.” Calling their relationship “fantastic,” the two have now decided to make it legal – well, … Continue reading

Pop Culture Potpourri: “Sex and the City” Sequel and a Split That Works

Hit me baby one more time. It’s semi-official: The girls from “Sex and the City” will be reuniting on the big screen yet again. At least according to Kim Cattrall. The actress who played Samantha in the HBO series and this year’s mega-successful “Sex and the City: The Movie,” confirmed to British news reporters that a sequel is in the works. The 52-year-old actress revealed that she is “thrilled” to be giving the fans what they want. “The fans keep saying, ‘Yes, one more,’” Cattrall told reporters. “The movie was so much fun to do and be part of again.” … Continue reading

Understanding How the Law of Attraction Attracts Love or Loneliness

A few weeks back Woman’s World had an article about an over forty woman who thought her hopes of ever getting married were about washed up. I wished I had saved the article because I don’t exactly remember the whole story about how she finally found love, but it had to do with changing her thinking and using the law of attraction. Love Charms and the Law of Attraction I want to say a friend had bought something like a cake topper and held on to it with the unshakeable faith that it would help guide her true love to … Continue reading

Musings on Singles, Labels, and a “Big” Wedding

As I noted in a comment response to Jade on my “Single Side of Things” article the other day, I finally had a chance to watch Sex and the City: The Movie. In “The ‘Biggest’ Wedding of the Season?”, I’d mused about what the movie would deliver. A lot of happily-ever-after endings for Carrie and her BFFs? Meaning a wedding to Big for Carrie, and Miranda, Charlotte, and Samantha having nothing but joy and contentment in their relationships. In the end that’s what the movie delivered, but not before some major heartache was endured. Life Imitating Art The weird thing … Continue reading

Cynthia Nixon and Girlfriend to Marry?

While one long time lesbian couple (Jodie Foster and Cydney Bernard) is rumored to have broken up, another fairly high profile lesbian couple is set to tie the knot. Cynthia Nixon, who stars as Miranda Hobbs Brady in “Sex and the City,” has revealed that she and her partner Christine Marinoni want to get married. Nixon has never been married, but lived with longtime boyfriend Danny Mozes for 15 years. The couple have two children together – eleven year old Samantha and five year old Charles. Nixon did not reveal her relationship with Marinoni for a long time, but now … Continue reading

“Sex and the City” Star ‘s Secret Revealed

Did you know that Sarah Jessica Parker begged her agent to terminate her “Sex and the City” contract after signing up for the role? According to the actress, it’s true. The TV and film star revealed the news while on a press junket for the new “Sex and the City” movie. Parker says she was enjoying her pre-“Sex and the City” life picking and choosing various New York projects, which allowed her time to spend with her friends and family and she was terrified at the prospect of being tied to a TV show for an entire series. The 42-year-old … Continue reading

Sex and the City Shocker

As you may know from reading some of my blogs, I am eagerly looking forward to the upcoming “Sex and the City” film. The movie set has been pretty closed, with only a few potential spoilers being revealed, such as us seeing Carrie in a wedding dress (Is it a dream? Is it real?). Now, one of the stars of the movie has let a shocker slip! Cynthia Nixon, who plays lawyer Miranda Hobbs on the show, has said that a main character dies in the upcoming movie. She refused to say who it was, but did say that the … Continue reading

Cynthia Nixon Riles Gay Activists

It seems to me (and forgive me if I am wrong) that most gay people believe they were born that way, that it wasn’t a choice. I mean, after all, many ask who would choose to be persecuted and discriminated against as they often are? Still, some people think it is a choice. Unlike someone who is female, African American, or physically handicapped, you can’t look at someone who is gay and know why. Some say they always felt gay, but were afraid to express it. But, there is no physical sign to the fact that they are gay and … Continue reading
