Sex and the City Shocker

As you may know from reading some of my blogs, I am eagerly looking forward to the upcoming "Sex and the City" film. The movie set has been pretty closed, with only a few potential spoilers being revealed, such as us seeing Carrie in a wedding dress (Is it a dream? Is it real?).

Now, one of the stars of the movie has let a shocker slip! Cynthia Nixon, who plays lawyer Miranda Hobbs on the show, has said that a main character dies in the upcoming movie. She refused to say who it was, but did say that the death would devastate the main character Carrie. Cynthia was quoted as saying, "A character dies in the movie. There's a loss that happens that's pretty tough. Something significant happens to Carrie, and it really forces her to ask questions that you have to ask about yourself."

So, the big questions is - who could it be? The series left us with potential candidates - Charlotte was longing to become pregnant by husband Harry. Could she die of a complication during birth? What about fun loving Samantha? The series left off with Samantha undergoing chemo for breast cancer. While her death might shock Carrie, it might be amusing to Sarah Jessica Parker as there were rumors that Kim Cattrall (who plays Samantha) was the hold out for the movie's go ahead. Or, maybe it is Carrie's love interest Mr. Big that is going to bite the dust. After all, he scared Carrie once before with his open-heart surgery. Even Miranda isn't safe - remember, her mother had a heart attack - maybe heart disease runs in the family. I suppose it could be another of Carrie's best friends - openly gay male character Stanford.

One thing is for sure, this little slip made news from New Zealand to Ohio, so this looks like it is a highly anticipated movie all over the world. I suppose I will just have to wait to see Sex and the City: The Movie to know for sure who dies!

OMG I really hope they don't kill off Mr. Big.

I doubt it will be a major character. I read producers want to make another movie after this one. My bet is Harry. But you never know...

Oh no, not Harry! And not Steve either! I dunno...it may be Stanford...he seems kinda expendable and it would touch Carrie deeply.

Who died? I finally saw it this weekend, then stumbled across this and was reminded someone might die. I don't remember anyone dying. And I just watched this past weekend!!! (Is that a sure sign I'm doomed to the Old Timer's like my mom and grandma???)

Unless if the death was not so much a person as the death of Carrie and Big's relationship. That was a death of sorts.

No death in the movie Courtney, I guess they were just jerking our chains :-)

You don't know how relieved I am to hear that, no, I did not forget something after just having watched the movie. Thanks for clearing me up Libby!
