Prince William Speaks Out Against Poaching

We all know how altruistic Princess Diana was. I remember how before her death, she campaigned for many charities including those for the homeless, sick, elderly, and children. She also toured land mines in Angola – pretty uncharacteristic for a princess if you ask me. Earlier this week, I blogged about Prince Charles and how he narrated a new documentary titled Harmony: A New Way of Looking At Our World, in which he talks about ways to stop climate change and find new ways to protect our environment. So, with two parents so involved in social issues, how could Prince … Continue reading

Prince William Gets Engaged

The Brits have often referred to her as “Waitey Katie” but now it seems like Kate Middleton may have the last laugh as it was announced today that she and Prince William are engaged to be married. The prince proposed last month while the two vacationed in Kenya. They are expected to give an interview later today. The two made their first public appearance as a newly engaged couple today. William gave Middleton his mother’s oval blue sapphire engagement ring as a way of making sure “my mother didn’t miss out on today,” he said. Their wedding, scheduled for spring … Continue reading

Princess Plays in her Birthday Suit

It wasn’t Bea in the buff; rather it was her younger sister Princess Eugenie, the daughter of Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, and Prince Andrew who was recently caught frolicking in the buff with her school chums. According to Britain’s The Sun, the 18-year-old princess was busted at her posh boarding school in Wiltshire, England, after a night out at a local pub with her school friends. (The legal drinking age in Britain is 18.) The paper reports that Princess Eugenie and her pals were celebrating the end of the school term and decided to shed their clothes (and … Continue reading

Royal Weddings: Now and Then

It was almost 30 years ago, but I still remember it vividly. It started on July 28th because I stayed up all night for the event of the decade – Prince Charles’ wedding to Lady Diana Spencer. This young, beautiful, innocent, barely out of her teens girl seemed to carry the future of a whole country on her back. We were close in age – actually, I was two years younger, but everyone I knew admired her, even though we had nothing in common with her. After all, she was marrying a prince and I was lying in the pallet … Continue reading

Royal Wedding Goes Bust

There’s still hope with William and Harry around, but the lavish nuptials between the queen of Mexican media, Salma Hayek and her French billionaire fiance, Francois-Henri Pinault is officially kaput, according to the actress’ rep. Reports confirm that the couple has called off their 16-month engagement. Ordinarily the news would hardly be worth a blog; however, the two share a 10-month-old daughter, Valentina Paloma and they had planned to wed in a luxurious tropical extravaganza estimated to be worth more than $3 million later this summer. So does this mean the wedding is off, but the two remain a couple? … Continue reading

Harry the Humanitarian

If Prince Harry had his way he would leave his royal life behind in England and move to Africa to help needy children there. The 23-year-old prince made the statement to reporters as he continued his month-long humanitarian mission in the impoverished African kingdom of Lesotho. The British royal solider is in the region trying to balance his army life and his charity work. For the next couple of weeks the handsome royal will work with Sentebale – the charity he and Lesotho’s Prince Seeiso founded in the memory of Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana. Four years ago Harry spent … Continue reading

Mariah Carey Marries

Her ring finger barely got used to balancing the blinged out boulder Nick Cannon gave her and the next thing you know the deal is sealed. Did they or didn’t they? Are they or aren’t they? For the past 24 hours media outlets have been going back and forth trying to confirm whether Mariah Carey and Cannon tied the knot for real. And the verdict… According to a marriage bureau on the Caribbean island of Eleuthera, Carey and Cannon are officially man and wife. Just a few days ago I blogged about the singer’s purported engagement… and now she is … Continue reading

Travel Tidbits: Royal Viewing and Happy Hybrids

I admit I was a die-hard Princess Diana fan. My mom woke me up at 2 a.m. Hawaii time to watch her fairy tale wedding to Prince Charles. I used my allowance to buy special editions of PEOPLE magazine whenever she was on the cover and I went gaga when her boys were born. So when it was announced that a dozens of Diana’s gowns were going to be displayed at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa in Florida, for a split second I considered making the trip (then reality hit and I remembered that I can barely … Continue reading
