DWTS’ First Victim and Paula Abdul’s 1000th Complaint

Dancing with the Stars’ new season hasn’t officially started yet, but the show is already losing celeb hoofers. Sort of. Yesterday Jewel announced that she might be forced to pull out of the TV dance competition due to a knee injury. The show’s eighth season premiere airs in less than two weeks and the singer says she is unsure she will be able to recover in time. Jewel made the announcement on her blog Wednesday saying that doctors diagnosed her with tendonitis in her knees and that she has started a course of medicine to help with the swelling. “I’m … Continue reading

American Idol Updates

It is that time of year! No, I don’t mean Christmas, I mean time for the excitement of the upcoming “American Idol” season, which will start on January 19th. As might be expected, “American Idol” has been in the news lately, for good or for bad. Paula Abdul has put her house up for sale after “American Idol” contestant Paula Goodspeed committed suicide in her car outside the house. Word is that Paula doesn’t feel safe in the house any longer. There was also talk of her blaming “American Idol” producers for not further protecting her from rabid fans. She … Continue reading

More on the Paula Abdul Suicide

There were some disturbing new revelations in the Paula Abdul suicide case today. PEOPLE magazine is reporting that Paula Goodspeed sent Paula Abdul flowers last week. But, rather than sending them from herself, she signed the card “Hope you’re doing great. Here’s my new cell number, Love, J.T.” It seems as if it was a desperate attempt by Goodspeed to get Abdul to call her. By signing “J.T.” to the card, Abdul thought the flowers were from J.T. Torregiani. (Photo by Alan Light and licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 2.0 License) But, I guess celebs have experience with this sort … Continue reading

Now the “American Idol” judge is looking to encroach on another hot TV competition—ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.” For months now rumors have been flying that Abdul is in the process of making a deal with her bosses at FOX and execs with the mega-popular dancing contest so that she can … Continue reading

Juicy Hollywood Tidbits – June 1, 2007

David Hyde Pierce Admits to His Sexuality I believe it was David Hyde Pierce who, when once asked about his sexuality, said, “My life is an open book, but don’t expect me to read it to you.” That was a good answer – I mean, I think we all knew the answer, but this week, David officially allowed his partner’s name to be mentioned. An interview online at CNN.com has the line “Pierce got to Los Angeles in the early 1990s when his partner, actor-writer-producer Brian Hargrove wanted to write for television.” Now some might still say that is a … Continue reading

“You’re No Sanjaya! You Have To Board Like Everyone Else.”

Catchy title, eh? Wish I could take all the credit for coming up with it, but truth be told, it is an actual quote from a real-life passenger trying to board a flight alongside “American Idol” judge Paula Abdul. Typically, each week I post a “Sunday Travel Funnies” blog. Well, this is it; only I changed the title in hopes of grabbing your attention. Anyway, back to Paula Abdul and the quote heard round the world. According to news reports, Abdul created quite a ruckus recently when she tried to board a Southwest Airlines flight from San Jose to Burbank, … Continue reading

Emilio Estevez in Love

If you were alive during the 80s (and even if you weren’t) you may remember Emilio Estevez best as wrestler Andy Clark in The Breakfast Club. He was the typical jock in a movie that served as a high school microcosm of teenage angst. Emilio was officially a member of what was dubbed the Brat Pack, a group of young actors noted for starring together in movies that would forever define a decade. However, being a member of the Brat Pack did not come without some backlash. In the days before Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan ruled Hollywood nightlife, the … Continue reading
