Paris Calls Barbara

NEWS FLASH: Paris Hilton says she has "found God" and vows to no longer "act dumb." Hmm... so it was all an act? Or was it an act of God? Let's ask Barbara Walters.

Seems as though the publicity-seeking socialite struck again yesterday when she phoned "View" creator Barbara Walters to get her side of the story out to her adoring fans.

About an hour ago, Walters told her co-hosts (and a live television audience) that Hilton "sounded tired but totally aware of what she was saying" (alluding to the fact that many news reports said the hotel heiress was drugged up on anti-depressants).

I won't bore you with the details Hilton shared with the famed television journalist regarding her ability to play ping-pong while behind bars or the fact that she claims she hasn't looked in the mirror since she was infamously reassigned to a medical facility in a L.A. jail last week. (Never mind that US Magazine is reporting that the 26-year-old party princess received an at home tanning session the day she was released to home confinement to get back the color she lost during her three days in the clinker.) Rather, I will cut to the chase and share with you the "stunning" revelation that Hilton provided Walters.

According to "The View's" creator, Hilton said about her time in the slammer: "I feel as if I'm a different person. I used to act dumb. That act is no longer cute. Now, I would like to make a difference. God has given me this new chance."

Walters reports that Hilton has added a spiritual adviser to her gaggle of handmaids and is now addicted to self-help books, which have inspired her "awakening." Walters described it as knowing she has "a power she can use for different things." Among the new and exciting plans the reality TV star wants to pursue upon being spring from her cell: serving breast cancer or multiple sclerosis foundations. According to Walters, Hilton has also suggested that she'd like to possibly open a Paris Hilton Playhouse for sick children. (Kind of like a Ronald McDonald House, only with the Hilton named attached.)

According to Walters, Hilton is due for release on June 25th. Which means she has about two weeks to find a new job... after all, she is giving up her career of "acting dumb."

Too bad she didn't say "You know, I really have no talent anyone cares about, I think I will just go away now." LOL!

I just really don't even know what to say -- the girl has got to be mental in some way.

One report said Paris suffers from ADD and claustrophobia... I wonder if the latter was brought on by her move from a 3,000-square foot home to a 10 by 8 ft cell???
