Okay, hopefully I have not overloaded you with Oscar blogs yet because here is another. Here are a few Oscar trivia questions. Some are pretty easy and some are not. The answers will be posted at the end of the blog.

1. There have only been three films to sweep the Oscars, winning Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, and Best Screenplay. Can you name any of them?

2. What actress has receive the most Academy nominations and how many has she received?

3. Who were the oldest male and female nominees in the Best Actor and Actress category?

4. Who were the youngest female and male Best Actor and Best Actress winners?

5. How many Oscars has Shirley Temple win?

6. I don't mind an Oscar ceremony that goes over schedule, but some people do. When was the longest running ceremony and how long did it run?

7. How many times did Bob Hope host the Academy Awards?

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Answers:

1. The three films are: It Happened One Night, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The Silence of the Lambs.

2. Meryl Streep has garnered 14 Academy Award nominations including one for Best Actress this year for The Devil Wears Prada.

3. The oldest male nominee for Best Actor was Richard Farnsworth at age 79 for the Straight Story in 1999. The oldest female nominee for Best Actress was Jessica Tandy at age 80 for Driving Miss Daisy.

4. The youngest female Best Actress winner was Tatum O'Neal for Paper Moon. She was 10 years old when she won in 1973. The youngest male was Adrien Brody, who was less than a month away from his 30th birthday when he won the award for The Pianist.

5. The only Oscar Shirley ever won was a honorary one in 1935 for her outstanding contribution to screen entertainment.

6. The longest ceremony was the 74th Academy Awards in 2002. It ran four hours and eighteen minutes, surpassing the 1999 broadcast by 10 whole minutes. 7. Bob Hope hosted the Academy Awards eighteen times between 1939 and 1977.
