Oprah Furious with Phil

I told you Dr. Phil has no friends...

Just days after Dr. Phil McGraw's pathetic attempt at a public apology regarding his role in the Britney Spears brouhaha hit airways the TV shrink's famous boss is reportedly steaming.

Like a bad rash this story just won't go away. Today, even more fallout from Dr. Phil's controversial meeting with the 26-year-old trainwreck is making headlines and this time it centers on McGraw's gravy train conductor Oprah Winfrey.

First Brit's parents publicly reamed the syndicated talk show host for blabbing to the media about his visit to the derailed singer while she was involuntarily sequestered in a L.A. hospital, then the would-be shrink got hung out by mental health experts who exposed the fact that McGraw is not even licensed to practice psychology, now the queen on talk has reportedly had it with her outspoken tell-it-like-it-is protégé.

According to the National Enquirer, Oprah is livid that Dr. Phil got involved with Spears' case to begin with and is further enraged by the fact that the Texas-born talk show host provided a non-apology on air earlier this week.

An insider told the Enquirer, "Oprah expected Phil to apologize before the situation got out of hand. Instead he used the spotlight to tout his struggling talk show. Oprah thinks he has completely lost his sense of right and wrong."

Bottom line says sources, Oprah is furious at how Dr. Phil has handled his public embarrassment. According to the informant, Winfrey feels Dr. Phil should have used her as an example and coughed up a sincere apology.

"Oprah has made mistakes in the past but the difference is that she's known when to step back and apologize," a friend revealed. "She feels Phil should have done that when he had the chance... He betrayed her trust."

According to the Enquirer, this isn't the first time the two titans of talk have clashed. Sources close to Dr. Phil say in 2005 McGraw "threw a hissy fit" when Winfrey's close pal Maria Shriver failed to get her hubby Arnold Schwarzenegger to introduce him at a conference on obesity. McGraw reportedly also got on Oprah's bad side when his bogus "Shape Up!" diet products failed to deliver and led to a $10.5 million settlement.

And you don't have to be a genius to figure out that it is not a good idea be on Oprah's bad side, especially since she was the one who gave you your break in Hollywood and brokered the $75 million deal that is your bread and butter. As one source put it: "Oprah is still Phil's boss. If she doesn't want him around, she can make him disappear."

SNAP!

I wish he would retire. He should be very comfortable, having made his living off exploiting the suffering of others.

I agree Lessly and Janet... of course if he retires that will mean he will have more time to meddle in the lives of people like Brit and co.
