Oops She Did It Again--Another Bad Mama Award For Britney

WAIT! Before you buzz over this blog, know that this is not one more string of paragraphs about Britney Spears' questionable (to put it mildly) parenting skills in relation to her two young sons 1-year-old, Sean Preston, and 3-month-old, Jayden James. Never mind how her recent late-night/early morning, panty-less partying ways are affecting her custody case. Let's talk about how they are affecting her dogs.

It's the talk of the Tinseltown: When it comes to celebrity dog-parenting skills, Britney Spears is the WORST--at least according to a recent online vote by readers of two dog magazines. (By the way, the queen of talk, Oprah Winfrey was rated as being the best mom to her group of furry family members.)

According to the magazines' editors, "Britney was the overwhelming choice" for worst celebrity dog owner for 2006. Hilary O'Hagan, editor of The New York Dog and The Hollywood Dog magazines, said when it comes to doggy care, Spears is what you would be considered a fly-by-night caretaker.

"She once had three Chihuahuas ... and never left home without at least one of them on her arm," O'Hagan said. "As soon as she met K-Fed and had kids they (the dogs) disappeared."

In Spears' defense so is K-Fed. The 25-year-old pop singer filed for divorce from aspiring rapper Kevin Federline a couple of months ago. If it weren't for the fact that her recent (shall we say) extracurricular activities have garnered so much attention I may have conceded that the dogs dropped a few notches on her list of priorities--due to the stress of the divorce and all. But, recent pictures of Brit seem to say it all as far as her priorities are concerned.

Coincidentally, Spears' new BFF, Paris Hilton named 2005's "worst" winner, placed second for "treating her dogs like accessories," the magazines said. (See I knew those two had more in common than a panache for not wearing underwear.)

As for the top dog (when it comes to caring for dogs), Winfrey who owns five dogs, replaced 2005 winner Joss Stone, and beat off competition from Tori Spelling, Nicollette Sheridan and Beth Ostrosky, Howard Stern's girlfriend.
