Disney Playmation Gets Kids Moving

One common complaint that parents have about video games is that requires the player to sit down, indoors, for the entire time they are playing the game. That can be frustrating for parents who wish their kids would get some exercise. Disney Playmation can provide a solution. It is a video game that gets kids moving! Playmation combines the best elements of video games and imaginative play. To use it, a kid must have a special high-tech toy that has motion-sensor technology, Bluetooth, and cloud connectivity. The wearable device is key, and can be enhanced with the use of a … Continue reading

Get Up and Get Moving

In the world of fitness and health, there is a lot of talk about the need to remain physically active.  So you might think that as long as you’re getting in half an hour of exercise everyday, physical activity levels are being met. Not so fast.  There may be more to it than this.  In fact, a new study looks at women in particular and finds that despite exercising; too much sitting doesn’t reduce the risk of certain health conditions.  In other words, you are no better off in lowering the chance of diabetes, premature death, obesity and cardiovascular diseases. … Continue reading

Moving With Baby

My husband and I are thinking of moving again. This time, it will not be a cross-country move, but probably somewhere close. We have moved a lot in our marriage, and are currently living somewhere the longest we’ve ever lived in one home since we got married 10 years ago. We have only lived here 2.5 years, and I’m getting the itch to move. Moving with a baby is hard, though. In fact, I get a little nostalgic every time we move because my babies are growing up so fast. I remember when we moved out of our tiny 2 … Continue reading

My Best Advice for Blogging

Content is still king: No matter how the winds blow or the tides change the most important factor in writing is content. You must put out quality content to gain and keep readers. What is quality content? Content that effects a reader. Does your content encourage, enlighten, or engage? Are you teaching something, informing, or making your readers laugh? Readers are probably not interested in your last trip to the grocery store unless you demonstrate extreme couponing or have some antidote that is worth mentioning a trip to the grocery story. A blog post is a gift to your readers. … Continue reading

Moving Out of State for Autism Therapy Coverage

There is a treatment for autism that is called Advanced Behavioral Analysis, or ABA. It can be expensive, especially if your health insurance policy doesn’t cover it. Not all states require insurers to provide this type of coverage. This is leading some families to move out of the state they currently live in, and into a state that does require ABA coverage. Applied Behavior Analysis, (ABA), is a scientific approach for evaluating behavior. It provides scientific information that helps guide behavioral therapy approaches. ABA is used as a form of treatment for autism. It teaches social, motor, and verbal behaviors, … Continue reading

Moving Your Job from the Office to the Home

There are some people who work outside the home and love their jobs. But they wouldn’t mind moving it from the office 30 minutes away to the comforts and convenience of their own home. In fact, they may believe that they would be more efficient this way. Is it possible that you could sell your boss on the idea? You just might be able to but before you decide to bring it up, consider some of the following things. First, how long have you been working for the company? If you have been working there for less than a year, … Continue reading

Moving Forward

Today I did something that I had been worrying about ever since I returned home from the hospital with our new baby about a month ago. I left the boys in the care of others for the first time. Dylan stayed at our house with his aunt, and Blake went to be with his grandmother. You would think that I was more concerned about leaving a newborn baby than a toddler, but that was not the case. When Dylan’s baby brother arrived and I was away from home for a few days, Dylan was very upset. Since I returned, he … Continue reading

Great Blog for Workouts and Motivation

Have you heard of Peanut Butter Fingers? No, it isn’t a new treat on the market it is a blog about fitness. I recently became aware of this blog while looking for workout routines I could effectively do in my home. Most home workouts are on DVD’s or Netflix. After a while they get boring and you lack the motivation to pop in the DVD or switch over to Netflix. I wanted to find something with teeth and something to fight the boredom. On my search I found a few tips here and there but it was not until looking … Continue reading

Moving To Organize

I found a new way to get organized. Have your child get her own apartment. I know it sounds a little drastic but it’s amazing how much stuff you can get rid of when you know your child will be using it. Hailey is moving into her new apartment next week and that has prompted me to go through cabinets and closets looking for things I don’t use. When you get your very first apartment you need everything. I have spent the last month going through my kitchen. One cabinet at a time. It’s amazing how much stuff you accumulate, … Continue reading
