In a previous blog I discussed the $2 million payout supermodel Christie Brinkley has been mandated to hand over to her cheating ex-husband Peter Cook. While $2 million may sound a lot to the average person, stats show it's peanuts compared to what other Hollywood spouses get when they split from their celebrity partners. Typically, the bigger the star, the greater the payout. Don't believe me? Take a look at the following star couples who landed in divorce court. The payouts the respective spouses were awarded are more than most of us will earn in a lifetime.

Harrison Ford vs. Melissa Mathison

Mega-movie star Harrison Ford's divorce to screenwriter Melissa Mathison after 18 years of marriage set celebrity settlement records. Mathison received a settlement of $85 million, as well as stakes in Ford's future film sales.

Kevin Costner vs. Cindy Silva

Actor Kevin Costner and his wife Cindy Silva were college sweethearts who stuck by each other through 16 years of marriage. Unfortunately, their relationship started unraveling in the early 1990s and by 1994, the split was official. Silva walked away with approximately $80 million of the actor's cash.

James Cameron vs. Linda Hamilton

"Titanic" director James Cameron had gone through three wives before marrying actress Linda Hamilton and he kept his streak going when he divorced her after 18 months of wedded bliss. Hamilton made off with $50 million after the divorce was finalized.

Lionel Richie vs. Diane Richie

The singing sensation met his second wife Diane in 1996, but by 2004 their marriage was over. The estimated settlement was said to be approximately $20 million after Diane went public detailing her lavish lifestyle in her alimony petition. Among her claims: a monthly clothing allowance of $15,000; $50,000 a month for manicures, massages and other personal services; and a plastic surgery budget of $20,000 a year.
