Demi Moore and Daughters at War?

Poor Demi Moore has certainly seen her share of tough times lately. She went through the distressing split with ex-hubby Ashton Kutcher, then had the incident in January where she was hospitalized for reportedly having a seizure due to using “whip-its.” But, she’s been laying pretty low since getting out of rehab in March. Or is she? While she may be off the gossipmonger charts, things don’t seem quite right. At least that’s what I thought when I read that Moore attended youngest daughter Tallulah’s graduation, but left before Tallulah actually received her diploma. Now reports are that none of … Continue reading

Celebrity Mother vs. Daughter: Courtney Love and Frances Bean Cobain

How bad does a mother/daughter relationship have to be when it seems their main form of communication is Twitter? That seems to be the current state of the relationship between rocker Courtney Love and her only child, Frances Bean Cobain. Frances Bean hasn’t had an easy life. Her father, Nirvana lead singer Kurt Cobain, killed himself in 1994, when she was just two-years-old. For some reason, his ashes weren’t scattered until 1999, when a then seven-year-old Frances Bean scattered them into McLane Creek in Washington. Frances Bean was raised by her mother part of her life, but because of Love’s … Continue reading

Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas to Split?

Actors Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas met while working on the film Too Much in 1995. It may have been love at first sight, but at the time, both were married to other people. Griffith married actor Don Johnson at the young age of 19 after the two had been dating for five years. Let me do the math for you – she was 14 when she started dating 22-year-old Johnson. That marriage only lasted six months and in September 1981, Griffith married actor Steven Bauer. That reportedly drug-fueled marriage lasted two year and in 1989, Griffith and Johnson gave … Continue reading

Do Fruits and Veggies Help Cessation?

We all know that eating fruits and vegetables is good for you and smoking is bad for you. But, what if the good could actually help you defeat the bad? That’s right – a study published in the Nicotine and Tobacco Research journal last May suggests that consuming fruits and vegetables may help you put the cigarettes down. The study, conducted by researchers at the University of Buffalo, looked at 1,000 smokers who were 25 years and older. Participants had to have smoked at least 100 cigarettes in their lifetime and smoke daily or at least some days. Telephone surveys … Continue reading

Material Mom

Besides the fact that we are both moms and were born on August 16th, there is very, very little I have in common with Madonna. At least that’s what I thought before I caught a snippet of an interview the “Material Girl” just did with NBC’s “Rock Center.” Unlike Madonna I am not an international entertainment superstar, I don’t have arms that look like Rambo’s and I wholeheartedly oppose yoga as a way to add balance to my life. However, I recently discovered that when it comes to parenting, we have this in common: We would rather be dead than … Continue reading
