Learning to Love Your Body

We all know that motherhood comes with a price. Your body goes through a remarkable transformation as it prepares to grow another human being. If you are like most of us, you probably have a few battle scars to show for it. I’ve gotten used to my tiger stripes, but I still struggle with my post-pregnancy body. It’s been almost 5 years since I had Logan and I’m still not to my pre-pregnancy weight. I envy my friends who walk out of the hospital looking like a model in their size 2 jeans again. When I left the hospital I … Continue reading

I Love My Vacuum

I did it, again. I bought a new vacuum and I think I’m a little in love with this thing! First let me say that I will not pay $500 for a vacuum, I don’t care how well it works, I can’t justify spending that much on a vacuum. My wedding rings didn’t cost that much. I’m not cheap, I’m frugal. I did some research on the internet and of course the name Dyson was everywhere, but even more surprising, so was Hoover, at about a fifth of the price. The reviews were good so I went to Kohl’s. The … Continue reading

I Love You Anyways

On a recent trip to the library, one of the books that Dylan picked out is “Olivia”, by Ian Falconer. He has asked me to read that book to him so many times that I have lost track. You know what, though? Even if I have read it to him fifty times I could read it to him fifty more. I just love that book. Why do I love “Olivia” so? I probably have as many reasons as the book has pages. One reason that I love it is that the main character, Olivia the piglet, reminds me so much … Continue reading

Blog Find-Buy Modern Baby

I’d like to start looking for some great baby blogs for you. There are a lot of them out there! But, wouldn’t it be great to have someone else do all the work and find a blog that can help you along with a new baby? Time is precious, right? I think so. The world today is full of Mommy bloggers that are showing off their Mom skills both in how they decorate the nursery, to how they parent. I love them. Of course, being a blogger myself, I’m a little addicted to blogs. I found one the other day … Continue reading

A Home Business Idea for The Cat Lover

Sometimes, home – based business ideas just appear out of the blue. Since I like to share ideas for home – based businesses that others may be interested in, I would like to tell you about an idea that I stumbled upon today with a little help from my two year old son. A few days ago, I went to the local library to borrow some DVDs to watch with him. We don’t have television service at our house, but we do occasionally like to sit down and watch a nature video or something else appropriate for little eyes and … Continue reading

That’s good news for lovebirds, not so much for eagle-eyed frugalistas looking to preserve their bank accounts in these tough economic times.
