Extreme Makeover Host Faces DUI Charges

I will admit that every once in a while, when I forget to turn the channel, I am sucked into watching Extreme Makeover - Home Edition. I hate to watch it because frankly, it usually makes me end up crying because I am so happy for the recipient family. Now, host Ty Pennington has his own worries to cry over. He was arrested last Tuesday and charged with misdemeanor drunk driving. His blood alcohol level was .14 - almost double California's legal limit of .08. He was released on $5,000 bond and called his arrest a "wake-up call." He could face six months in jail if convicted at his June 4th arraignment.

Another Real World Baby

Okay, this one only involves one Real World cast mate, but Jacinda Barrett, the model turned actress from the London season of the popular MTV reality show, has announced that she and her hubby of three years, actor Gabriel Macht are expecting their first child later this year. Jacinda has starred in several films including The Human Stain with fellow Australian actress Nicole Kidman, Ladder 49 with Joaquin Phoenix, and The Last Kiss with Zach Braff. Gabriel has recently showed up in The Good Shepard and Because I Said So.

Actor Tom Sizemore Booked for Drug Possession

Oh man, I cannot believe this! I watched several episodes of "Shooting Sizemore," the VH1 reality show about Tom Sizemore's struggles with staying clean from drugs. The talented actor filmed his day to day activities of trying to stay off drugs and restart his movie career. He had been arrested several times for using drugs and had probation revoked when he failed a drug test back in 2006. Now, it appears his demons have gotten a hold of him again. He was arrested for possession of crystal methamphetamine use in a car in Bakersfield, CA yesterday. If what he said on the show is true, this will probably send him back to prison, something he adamantly insisted he could not do again while filming the show. It may also mean the final deathblow to his once impressive career, although Robert Downey Jr. seemed down and out several times before he managed to stay clean and start rebuilding his career.

The thing that bothers me the most about Ty is that I seem to remember that he helped makeover a home for a family who was affected by a drunk driver (someone in the family got hit by a drunk driver) you'd think that would have served as his "wake up call" instead of his arrest.
