Jerry Seinfeld and George Clooney Returning to Primetime

I’m not sure which one I am more thrilled about. Jerry, Jerry, Jerry Seinfeld is finally returning to the small screen after more than a decade’s absence. According to reports, the popular comedian turned actor is planning to star in a new sitcom for NBC called The Marriage Ref. In an interview with Variety, the Seinfeld star show will tackle the highs and lows of married life. “This is not a therapy show, it’s a comedy show,” Seinfeld bemused. “After nine years of marriage, I have discovered that the comedic potential of this subject is quite rich.” The series, which … Continue reading

Jerry Seinfeld to the Rescue

You don’t have to be a sports fan to appreciate this next tale… even though it involves a famous NFL quarterback. Jerry Seinfeld is livid with a guy I used to work with. Jay Zollar is the station manager at the FOX affiliate in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The same place Eli Manning and the rest of the New York Giants are visiting this weekend as they prepare to take on the Green Bay Packers in the NFC championship game Sunday evening. A few days ago Zollar learned that Manning’s favorite show is “Seinfeld.” So as a dig to the football … Continue reading

Halloween Howlers

Knock, knock! Who’s there? Goblin! Goblin who? Goblin too much candy can give you a tummy ache. Knock, knock! Who’s there? Zombie! Zombie who? Zombie afraid, it’s just a costume. Knock, knock! Who’s there? Tomb! Tomb who? Tomb many hilarious Halloween jokes to miss out on! “Thank you. I’ll be here all week.” Or so says my 7-year-old, who has finally learned how to tell a knock-knock joke so it works. The milestones keep coming. No more: Her: Knock, knock! Me: Who’s there? Her: Telephone! Me: Telephone who? Her: Telephone… um… telephone in the closet. I’ll get it! Thanks to … Continue reading

The Power of Guest Stars

Forget about Michael Phelps sinking or swimming during his stint as host of this week’s “Saturday Night Live,” I’m more interested in the rumor that “SNL” alum Tina Fey may be returning to the popular comedy sketch show to play Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin. I have been a fan of Fey’s since she made her debut on “SNL” (she left to head up NBC’s “30 Rock”) and would be thrilled to see her back on late-night TV. “SNL” head honcho Lorne Michaels wouldn’t confirm Fey’s temporary return; rather all he would tell reporters is that whoever plays John … Continue reading

Celebrity Weddings—Who’s Heading Down the Aisle and Who’s Running Away From It

Let’s start with the latter since it really is like life imitating art. “Melrose Place” fans undoubtedly remember the soap’s final episode, which featured Amanda played by Heather Locklear and Peter Burns played by Jack Wagner sharing a romantic beach wedding after they successfully faked their deaths. It was the perfect ending to the wild ride the two characters took together on the small screen. Only the man who played Peter Burns now wants to recreate that sunset wedding ceremony with his real life love… the one and only Heather Locklear. The only problem, according to reports is that Locklear … Continue reading

OUCH! Celebrity Wrecks

Before I tell you why Jerry Seinfeld should be wearing a neck brace (and a full body cast) instead of “Dancing with the Stars” pro Derek Hough I wanted to give you an update on how the blond two-stepper is doing today. Two words: NOT good. According to reports, the popular ABC dance competition might make history next week when Hough’s celebrity partner Shannon Elizabeth is forced to waltz her way around the dance floor without her injured partner. Doctors have instructed Hough to stay off the dance floor until further notice. PEOPLE magazine is reporting that the 22-year-old pro … Continue reading
