Jamie Lynn Spears' Baby Daddy in Car Wreck

Britney Spears' almost-but-not-really brother-in-law has a cracked skull.

At least that's what one media source is reporting.

Casey Aldridge, the father of Jamie Lynn Spears' 10-month-old daughter Maddie, was reportedly injured in a car accident early Sunday morning.

According to police reports, the 19-year-old was driving his Ford F-250 truck when he lost control around 1:30 this morning, and drove off the shoulder of a Louisiana highway. Police say Aldridge's truck flipped over and he and his three passengers sustained injuries.

There are conflicting reports on the severity of the teen father's injuries.

One report claims Aldridge suffered a "cracked skull" and has been "in and out" of consciousness. Another source says Spears' former fiance is set to undergo surgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, for "a blood clot near his brain." Still another says that the shy kid, who has been accused of cheating on Brit's little sis, is in stable condition and on the road to recovery.

Louisiana police don't seem to care whether Aldridge is coherent or not, they still slapped him with a ticket following his wreck. Officers reportedly charged the teen with careless operation of a motor vehicle (a misdemeanor)--no other vehicle was involved.

Aldridge's passengers are reportedly recovering from their injuries as well (one of Casey's pals is said to have broken his collarbone), though word has it that Casey's were much more serious.

As for now, Maddie's daddy is reportedly being comforted by Jamie Lynn at the hospital. Aldridge's sister was also seen entering the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

As for whether Britney will bop down to LA from L.A., well, I would say that's highly unlikely given her current situation.

The pop singer is still on tour and last week wasn't one of her best. On Wednesday night in Oakland, California, Spears was on stage splayed out on a chaise lounge when one of her mohawked male dancers, who was suspended by wires, pick her up for a mid-air spin. Only the trick didn't go off as well as planned. Apparently some of Brit's hair extensions got stuck to the chair and were subsequently ripped from her head as she was lifted into the air.

OUCH!
