You gotta watch those crazy senior citizens - Jamie Lee Curtis, who turns 50 this November 22, has decided to pose topless for a magazine. No, no, not Playboy, but the cover of AARP (American Association of Retired Persons). The May/June issue of AARP Magazine will feature Jamie Lee sporting gray hair and wading in water up to her chest.
Jamie told the magazine in an interview "I want to be older. I actually think there's an incredible amount of self-knowledge that comes with getting older. I feel way better now than I did when I was 20. I'm stronger, I'm smarter in every way, I'm so much less crazy than I was then."
Jamie is married to Christopher Guest and the mother of two children. As she has gotten older, she has decided to start eating healthy and has dropped 20 pounds in the past year.
Whatever she is doing, it is working. I hope I look that good when I am 50!
As Michele had earlier reported, Actress Angela Bassett received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this week. The mother of twins who won a Golden Globe in 1994 for her portrayal of Tina Turner in What's Love Got to Do with It" told the crowd at the ceremony "Do you ever have one of those days? I woke up and the sun wasn't really shining but then it burst through the clouds and it was glorious. Hallelujah!"
Joining Angela at the ceremony were husband Courtney B. Vance, her children, Forest Whitaker, Laurence Fishburne, and Rick Fox (who co-stars with her in the upcoming film Meet the Browns). Bassett is the recipient of the 2,358th star on the Walk of Fame.
Bassett moved to Los Angeles in 1998 from New York. She said, "I meant to stay six months but I stayed. Today my cup runneth over! I am crying now, I cried yesterday and the day before. ... This day is so, so special to me."
