Jack LaLanne Dead at 96

When I was young with probably zero percent body fat, I often worked out with Jack LaLanne as I watched his television show. This was before Jane Fonda donned her headband and legwarmers, before there were any “of Steel” videos, and when “Biggest Loser” trainer Jillian Michaels was still in diapers. Each year, we lose beloved stars, athletes, authors, and pop culture figures and 2011 was no exception. Here’s a few of those that died in 2011: January 2011 If you are a Rocky Horror Picture Show fan, you no doubt remember the line “Anne Francis stars in Forbidden Planet” from Science Fiction/Double Feature, the opening ode to great sci-fi films of the ‘50s and ‘60s. The Importance of Proper Breathing

One of the things I really enjoy about my Wii Fit Plus is that it draws my attention to aspects of fitness I might not otherwise think about, such as my posture and “Don’t forget to breathe.” I remember the first time I heard my virtual yoga instructor tell me to not forget to breathe. I thought, “Well of course, I would be dead” but there is more to it than just breathing to stay alive.
