Celeb Updates: Paris’s Least Favorite Color and Rosie’s Staying Put

Can you guess what it is? That’s right—-prison orange. According to her mother, Paris is “sick of orange.” But other than that Kathy Hilton says her daughter is doing well and is looking forward to being released from jail tomorrow. “I think she’s very, very excited to see the family,” the heiress’ mother told reporters on Saturday. Ma Hilton added that the party-girl was also looking forward to getting out of her orange prison uniform. Another of the socialite’s visitors (actress Ashley Scott of TV’s “Jericho”) told reporters that Paris can’t wait to get out and “eat.” How’s that for … Continue reading

Is “The View” Getting A Male Co-host?

For weeks rumors have been circulating about who will fill Rosie O’Donnell’s large shoes on ABC’s daytime chatfest “The View.” Media front runners (their names have tossed around by the press, not by “View” execs) include Kathy Griffin, Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd – all of whom have regularly filled in as guest co-hosts in recent weeks. (They’d be fools to let Shepherd get away—she’s hilarious!) But, today, New York is buzzing about two names that have not made the list of serious female contenders—Mario Cantone and Ross Mathews. Shocking? Hardly. The two men have been frequent guests on the … Continue reading

“View” News: Classy “Viewer” Weds and Rosie’s Idol Says “Ciao” To Rome

I’m sure the tabloids are counting the minutes until the start of today’s edition of “The View.” After all, this will be the first live show to air since Rosie O’Donnell announced she would be leaving the ABC chatfest before the end of her contract. No doubt there are those who are dying to see how den mother (and show creator) Barbara Walters handles the situation… but I think more people will be tuning in to see what co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck has to say about Rosie’s departure and having Donald Trump refer to her as “the dumbest person on television.” … Continue reading

Star Updates: Rosie and Katie

Many people (mainly those in the media) are wondering how Rosie O’Donnell is faring in the days since she told executives at “The View” she didn’t plan to return to the show on Tuesday—or ever! (Okay, she didn’t say “ever,” but you have to wonder will all the bad blood that was spilled during her war of words with co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck if Rosie will indeed return to the show as a guest to speak on issues such as autism and adoption as she promised a few months ago.) Personally, I don’t know why members of the media are speculating … Continue reading

Ciao Rosie!

The fact that CNN is calling the report “Breaking News” says a lot about the state of our world, doesn’t it? It’s the news some knew would be coming and others hoped would be coming (Donald Trump and Co.)—Rosie O’Donnell will be leaving ABC’s “The View” in June. I just watched the controversial co-host announce her departure live on “The View” and she didn’t seem to be upset about it at all. According to O’Donnell, she wasn’t able to agree on contract details with ABC (she says they wanted her to sign a 3-year deal and she only wanted to … Continue reading

Ah, Rosie is at it Again

Okay, this time, Rosie was egged on a bit. Apparently, House Majority Leader Tom DeLay called for Rosie to be suspended from her duties on “The View” last Friday. It seems that DeLay was a bit upset by the firing of Don Imus over his racist comments about the Rutger’s girl’s basketball team. Well, he was not actually upset about the firing – DeLay says his comments were deplorable, but said Imus has apologized for the comments, should be forgiven, and everyone should just move on. But, DeLay insists that the Left wants Imus to be destroyed, both publicly and … Continue reading

Celebrity Updates: “The View” Feud and “Spicy” Refusals

The world of entertainment is fluid (to say the least), which is why blogs about certain celebrities tend to require updates on a weekly basis (save for Britney Spears in which case it’s an hourly basis). The following are new takes on subjects from my previous blogs featuring the ladies of a certain ABC chatfest and a reality star in the making. “The View’s” Youngest View Much has been written about the growing animosity brewing between “View” co-hosts Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Rosie O’Donnell. Some media reports have the ladies clawing at each other during commercial breaks. While other reports (including … Continue reading

Rosie vs. The Donald vs. Barbara

Okay, enough already – please! It seems that every morning when I awake and turn on the news, Rosie O’Donnell or Donald Trump is on, slurring the other. This whole feud just does not even make any sense to me! Now granted, I am not a big fan of either Rosie or Donald. And now, they have managed to drag Barbara Walters into the feud. I am even not 100% certain how this started (and please correct me if I am wrong), but I think started it when Rosie posted comments on her web blog before Christmas. It was a … Continue reading

Rosie O’Donnell Under Attack—Is It Warranted?

Goodness—will it ever end? It seems every few days something happens on ABC’s “The View” that makes headlines. This week’s headline grabber: co-host Rosie O’Donnell’s imitation of a Chinese person. Did you catch it? On December 5th, O’Donnell was commenting on actor Danny DeVito’s inebriated visit to the show when she broke out in what is now being called by the Asian-American community an “offensive accent.” On the show O’Donnell said: “The fact is that it’s (DeVito’s drunken appearance) news all over the world. That you know, you can imagine in China it’s like: ‘Ching chong. Danny DeVito, ching chong, … Continue reading

Is Rosie Leaving “The View?”

Will she stay or will she go? It’s beginning to sound like a broken record at ABC’s chatfest “The View.” Seriously, didn’t we just play this game a few months ago with someone named Star Jones Reynolds (you remember that debacle)? Yet just three months into her year-long contract there are published rumors that Rosie wants out (or should I say off the table that she shares with co-hosts Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Joy Behar, and the show’s creator, Barbara Walters). If you tuned into yesterday’s show (I did, though it was pre-empted by a presidential news conference about five minutes after … Continue reading
