REGIS RETURNS He’s baaaack! Talk show host Regis Philbin returned to his day job (and a standing ovation by hundreds of fans) today—six weeks after undergoing triple heart bypass surgery. Did you get to see any part of his return on “Live With Regis and Kelly?” I saw bits and pieces and agree with everyone who expressed amazement at how well Philbin looks. (Hard to believe he’s 75!) Injured Journalist Returns To TV

Mornings are hectic around our house so it is virtually unheard of for me to make an a.m. date with the television. But, tomorrow I will be making an exception. I am anxious to see ABC newsman Bob Woodruff’s return to television. I have been following Woodruff’s recovery for months. In January, the former “World News Tonight” anchor and his photographer Doug Vogt were standing in the hatch of an Iraqi mechanized vehicle, reporting on the war from the Iraqi troops’ perspective, when a roadside bomb exploded and tore off part of Woodruff’s skull. Injured Journalist Plans Return To TV

ABC News has just announced that anchor Bob Woodruff will be returning to TV in his first broadcast since being severely injured in January by a roadside bomb while covering the war in Iraq. In previous blogs I had reported that there was speculation that it may be a while before Woodruff returned to his duties at the network (anchoring, reporting or otherwise). But, it looks like the news is better than first believed and in fact ABC has released a statement which details plans for a primetime special to air in spring 2007.
