Star Updates: Lisa Marie Has Twin Girls and Helio Gets the Green Light to Race

After an eventful pregnancy spent battling the tabloids, Lisa Marie Presley finally welcomed twin girls into the world on Tuesday, October 7th. According to reports, mom and her newborn daughters are at home resting comfortably. Presley’s rep says the baby girls were delivered by C-section Tuesday afternoon and weighed in at 5 lbs., 15 oz. and 5 lbs., 2 oz. respectively. The singer reluctantly announced her pregnancy shortly after a London newspaper published unflattering photographs of her eating at a restaurant with her mom Priscilla Presley and commented about her “mega-appetite.” Presley sued for libel, and the paper later apologized. … Continue reading

Star Updates: Twins and Tragedy

Somehow I don’t see a bidding war brewing for the first shots of Lisa Marie Presley’s twins. Yes, the King of Rock and Roll’s daughter finally revealed that she is carrying twins, but no, you shouldn’t count on seeing the bouncing bundles of joy in a 19-page magazine spread a la Brangelina’s double blessing. Lisa Marie’s mother Priscilla Presley was the one who spilled the beans to TV’s “Entertainment Tonight” saying that her daughter wanted to keep the news private as long as possible. And who can blame her considering the drama she endured during her first trimester. Months ago … Continue reading

This Week in History – 1959

I am going all the way back to 1959 this time. It’s okay, I don’t personally remember it either. But, it is still fun to see how much our society and culture has changed since then! In sports news, Yankee manager Casey Stengel was worried about a batting slump. As a team, they were only batting .190 – that includes baseball legend Mickey Mantle! The Dodgers held a benefit game against the Yankees for Roy Campanella, whose career ended after an automobile crash left him paralyzed from the waist down. In celebrity news, Eddie Fisher became Elizabeth Taylor’s fourth husband … Continue reading

Lisa Marie Presley Peeved About Pregnancy Report

Oh, Elvis’ daughter is pregnant all right, only she didn’t want any of us to know it. Apparently, the King’s daughter wanted her bun in the oven to stay under wraps. However, thanks to several media outlets (hmm… how should I put this…) less than kind remarks about Lisa Marie’s expanding waistline (London’s “The Daily Mail” ran a pic of Lisa Marie and her mom Priscilla eating lunch in Los Angeles with the caption: “Like father like daughter? Bloated Lisa Marie is now the double of dad Elvis”) the 40-year-old singer says she was forced to announce her pregnancy. “After … Continue reading

Another Elvis Heir on the Way

While her mom is dropping dress sizes preparing for her “Dancing with the Stars” debut, Lisa Marie Presley is happily packing on the pounds as she awaits the birth of her third child. Yes, it’s true Elvis Presley’s only child is due to give birth this fall. Lisa Marie is reportedly three months along and is “incredibly overjoyed” to be pregnant again. The new baby will be the first for the 40-year-old singer and her husband, guitarist and music producer Michael Lockwood who were married in Japan in January 2006. Presley has two children, daughter Riley, 18, and son Benjamin, … Continue reading

Catching Up with Nicolas Cage

The other night, I was trying to decide what to watch on late night television. I do not normally watch David Letterman or Jay Leno unless there is just someone I love appearing as a guest. Fortunately, for me, Nicolas Cage was on “Late Night with David Letterman” earlier this week. I just had to watch, but it was a different interview. Cage’s new movie, Next, has him playing a character who can see two minutes into the future. Nicolas said that while he could not do that in real life, he was able to hold his breath for two … Continue reading

The Christian Marriage

Over the next few weeks I want to focus some blog articles on marriage, and more specifically the Christian marriage, which should be centered on God. The topic of marriage has been on my mind a lot lately. There have been some really good discussions in the Christian Families Forum specifically about Christianity and marriage. My husband and I have some good friends who are getting married this weekend. I also came across the following quote by Rita Rudner, a comedienne: “In Hollywood a marriage is a success if it outlasts milk.” The quote by Ms. Rudner really caught my … Continue reading
