Can you image walking across the stage at your high school graduation and locking eyes with actress Sandra Bullock? That’s exactly what happened to some unsuspecting New Orleans high school seniors just a few days ago. Bullock and her husband Jesse James sat in the front row to witness 191 students receive their diplomas. The students make up the first graduating class from Warren Easton High School since Hurricane Katrina nearly leveled it in 2005. Celebrities Lend Helping Hand To Virginia Tech Students

They say tragedy brings out the best in people, and April’s tragic shooting at Virginia Tech was no exception. In the days following the deadliest shooting in modern U.S. history an outpouring of support blanketed the campus in Blacksburg. Now, four months after the massacre, a handful of stars are once again uniting to offer help to the students and staff affected by the shooting rampage. Call it history in the making. A slew of Hollywood’s biggest names are lending their names (and arms) in the name of HIV awareness. Regina King, Howard Hesseman and Jimmy Jean-Louis of NBC’s “Heroes” are among a group of entertainers getting voluntary HIV tests next week to raise public awareness of the virus in black communities. The actors will not only be undergoing the test, but they will be doing so in front of cameras at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) headquarters in Los Angeles.
