Hollywood Couples With Heart

They said it wouldn't last... in Hollywood "they" tend to be right. But, look beyond the Britney and K-Fed's, the Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz's, and you'll see a core group of Hollywood power couples who make love work. Being that today is Valentine's Day I thought it appropriate to give those happy pairs sometime ink.

Here are just a few of Tinseltown's star couples with staying power:

JERRY AND ANNE

Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara. They've been married for more than 50 years (!!) and recently received a joint star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for their respective careers. (Incidentally, their real-life children--actors Ben Stiller and Amy Stiller - and an "on-screen child," Jason Alexander joined the couple as they were presented with the 2,328th star.)

"Seinfeld" fans remember Stiller as the father of Alexander's character, George Costanza. Meanwhile, Meara has been nominated four times for an Emmy for her work in television. The couple started their careers as members of the improvisational company The Compass Players. From there they started an act, which led to dozens of appearances on "The Ed Sullivan Show."

Stiller and Meara join Sonny and Cher, TV's Ozzie and Harriet Nelson, and radio's Fibber McGee and Molly (Jim and Marian Jordan), as the only married couples to receive a joint star on the Walk of Fame.

TIM AND FAITH

After a decade of marriage, country superstars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill say they can't imagine life getting any better. The couple met during 1996's Spontaneous Combustion tour. These days they spend more time with their three daughters than on the road touring.

WARREN AND ANNETTE

When Warren Beatty cast Annette Bening in 1991's "Bugsy," the actor was known as Hollywood's most eligible bachelor. Today, he is simply known as "dad" to he and Bening's four children. The pair has been married for 14 years and tell PEOPLE magazine they are still "madly in love" with each other.

TOM AND RITA

They are a Hollywood couple people love to love. And, their love story reads like a made-for-TV-movie... Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson met on the set of the 1985 flick "Volunteers," but Hanks was already married. When he got a divorce two years later, the two reunited on the set of another movie-"Sleepless in Seattle." They became inseparable, married and 18 years later they still remain "best friends."

DENZEL AND PAULETTE

Denzel Washington met his wife of 23 years while working on the 1977 TV drama "Wilma." He claims it was "love at first sight." It wasn't long before the pair got married and had four children. Washington went on to win an Oscar, but knows who wear the pants in the family. He once told a TV reporter the secret to his successful marriage is: "Doing what my wife tells me and keeping my mouth shut."

PAUL AND JOANNE

Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward met in 1952 while performing in the Broadway play "Picnic." Forty-eight years later they remain happily married and one of the most revered couples in Hollywood.
