Is your daughter a fan of actress and singer Hilary Duff? If so you may want to encourage her to save some of her holiday gift money to purchase her very own---Red Carpet Glam Hilary Duff Doll.

Ah yes, Duff is a real doll--a real Barbie doll that is. The 19-year-old is the latest Hollywood star to take on 12-inch proportions as the world's most popular fashion doll. And she is in good company. Duff now joins other famous (doll) faces such as Reese Witherspoon, Beyonce Knowles and Lucille Ball. The Red Carpet Glam Hilary Duff Doll, features the teen actress' likeness sporting a polka-dot dress with a red satin sash. The Duff doll will reportedly hit store shelves by the end of the month.

Don't know Duff? Allow me to get you up to speed. She is a singer, actress and fashion designer best known for playing TV's "Lizzie McGuire," AND has also designed clothes for Barbie. Mattel, the doll's manufacturer, says they chose the young Hollywood beauty because she is a "great role model for young girls and she shows them there are no limits to what they can do."

Cast and crewmembers of the daytime drama "Guiding Light" may consider taking some of the Duff dolls with them when they head down to the Gulf Coast next month. Cast and crew members plan to celebrate the CBS show's 70th anniversary with a year of volunteering. Their first project gets underway in January when cast members travel to the Gulf Coast to rebuild homes destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. According to the show's website, working in conjunction with the volunteer organization Hands On Network, "Guiding Light" stars will take on service projects in a different city each month.

"Seventy years ago, Irna Phillips created 'Guiding Light' with one fundamental theme in mind: the brotherhood of man," the show's executive producer, Ellen Wheeler, said in an online message. "We're hoping that this theme ... will motivate people to be the change they wish to see in their communities."

By the way, did you know "Guiding Light" holds the Guinness World Record as the longest-running show in broadcast history? It debuted on radio in 1937, moved to television in 1952 and has been on the air ever since.
