Heath Ledger's Alleged Love Child

Apparently, Heath Ledger's uncles have a problem letting their nephew rest in peace.

Make that estranged uncles. News reports say they are the ones claiming that the late actor may have fathered a love child when he was a teenager.

According to Australian newspapers, when Ledger was a 17-year-old struggling actor in Sydney he reportedly hooked up with a 25-year-old woman who later gave birth to a baby girl. Ledger's uncles claim the woman was living with another man when she discovered she was pregnant and never found out the baby's paternity.

"There is a very real possibility that Heath was the father," Hadyn Ledger told reporters.

The "Brokeback Mountain" star is without question the father of 2-year-old Matilda whose mother is actress Michelle Williams. She was the only child the actor acknowledged fathering prior to his untimely death in January.

The news of Ledger's alleged love child comes just weeks after a fight broke out between the actor's father and his uncles over the execution of his will. Ledger's will was written well before Matilda was born and therefore doesn't take into account much of his earnings and subsequent acquisitions.

According to Ledger's uncles, the Oscar nominee's father, Kim is unfit to be the executor of Heath's will because he squandered their grandfather Sir Frank Ledger's $2-million estate when oversaw it years ago.

Australia's The Sunday Times, confirms that a Supreme Court judge eventually removed Kim from overseeing his grandfather's estate but as of today Heath's father is still in control of his son's fortune.

You have to wonder what Williams is making of the new rumor of her ex-boyfriend's potential love child. I'm sure she has the wherewithal to dismiss any claim until it is proven as fact. Then again, what impact would it really make on her life? Sure, it would mean that her daughter has a half-sister, but at this point I don't see why Heath's uncles see fit to make claims regarding their dead nephew and an alleged affair that may or may not have produced a child. Do you?
