Guilt-Free Shopping

Is there such a thing? I suppose if you are a multi-millionaire shopping is almost something you have to do so you don't die with money left over. (Oh, the horror!) But, for the rest of us non-Powerball winners we tend to pick and choose our "necessities" carefully.

For example, diaper bags. If you have a baby you need a bag of some sort to tote around the ton of infant essentials associated with a newborn. The bag needs to be able to hold the equivalent of an entire nursery, but you still want it to be stylish (even if you are carrying it while you're wearing a shirt decorated with spit up).

Enter Coach's Healthy Child Baby Bag with a new "scribble" design. It's large enough to carry all your baby's accessories and hip enough so you don't look like a complete fashion disaster. The bag features a diaper changing pad, ample pockets and a detachable shoulder strap. Celebrity moms like Jennifer Garner and Brooke Shields own one... and for $350 you can too. Yes, the price tag may leave you with sticker shock, but here's the part that could ease your guilty conscience. Twenty percent of online sales of the bag will benefit Healthy Child Healthy World, an organization that educates parents on how to create healthy environments for their children with cleaner, safer choices at home.

Here's another way to flaunt your inner fashionista without feeling guilty for dropping dough to do so---buy an Invisible Children tee. Invisible Children is a non-profit charity that brings education and awareness to children in war torn countries. Cameron Diaz, Courtney Cox, Hayden Panettiere have been seen around L.A. sporting the hip $20 indigo peace dove t-shirt.

Finally, guilt-free shopping could be closer than you think... especially if you live near a T.J. Maxx. Since 1984, the retail shop has helped raise millions of dollars for Save the Children-an organization that assists kids who live in poverty. This year, in addition to collecting donations at its locations across the country, T.J. Maxx is giving disadvantaged children a boost to their self esteem by using them as models in their Back to School campaign, which now doubles as an awareness campaign. To help children rise above the devastating conditions they must endure, T.J. Maxx stores nationwide will be collecting donations at each of its locations. To find a store nearest you, click here.
