They may no longer be dating each other, but Jude Law and Sienna Miller still seem to share something in common---helping those less fortunate.

Law has recently been getting a lot of press for his work traveling and filming in treacherous areas of eastern Afghanistan to promote the United Nations' annual day of worldwide cease-fire and nonviolence in September. The 34-year-old actor interviewed children, government ministers and community leaders for a movie to mark the U.N.'s Peace Day on September 21st. According to Law, the film is "about documenting and seeing how Peace Day can save lives."

Crew members say the entire trip was shrouded in secrecy for security reasons. Law and crew visited United Nations Children's Fund-supported programs in Kabul and in the eastern provinces of Laghman and Nangarhar, where violence is widespread. When it's complete the film will be shown in 50 countries and up to 70 international film festivals in an effort to promote peace.

"Whether there is fighting in our countries, whether there is fighting in our homes, in our communities or in our schools, the message is to us all, there is one day of peace on this planet and if peace is important ... then we will all do everything that we can on that day to send a message of hope to the people of our world," the film's producer told reporters.

While Law was raising awareness about peace, his former flame and resident do-gooder, Sienna Miller was making rounds in India urging residents there to do more to slow global warming.

The actress teamed up with Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan in Mumbai to kickoff a weeklong trip to the country as an ambassador for Global Cool. Bachchan is one of India's biggest movie stars (if not the biggest). He recently announced that the Indian International Film Academy would partner with Global Cool, an organization that spreads awareness about global warming, to increase knowledge about greenhouse gas emissions and asked Miller to lend a hand.

The actress says she didn't hesitate to join the mission to protect the planet. Miller recently told reporters that she hoped her fellow actors would also reach out to residents of China and India to raise awareness about global warming. (The theory is that large countries such as India and China with growing populations produce massive amounts of carbon emissions, which are destroying the environment.)
