Coming Clean---Maybe

It was a "hot topic" on the show she formerly co-hosted, but now Star Jones Reynolds says she wants to extinguish the fanfare that surrounded her dramatic weight loss. The talk show host has decided to write an article for Glamour magazine in an effort to set the record straight.

"I wrote an article because I really wanted to go as in-depth as possible about the way I've changed physically over the last 10 years on the air," the 45-year-old criminal justice reporter recently told media reps while promoting her new Court TV (soon to be truTV) talk show. "And I thought that that would be the most effective way to answer everybody's questions."

The article entitled, "Getting Over Myself," will be featured in the September issue. Prior to Reynolds "confession," many speculated she underwent gastric bypass surgery, though up until now the former "View" co-host never confirmed the reports. All she would say is that she had undergone "medical intervention for her weight."

Speaking of weight, Reynolds says while she has been reluctant to talk about how she dropped so many pounds, she has never been shy about displaying pictures of when she was at her heaviest.

"I actually like seeing the old pictures because what it says to me is, 'You never allow yourself to get there again,'" she told reporters. "It was dangerous to me. Very dangerous. I was killing myself."

The "new and improved" Reynolds will be showing off her trim figure during her new Court TV show. The "drama queen" (as dubbed by Rosie O'Donnell) returns to TV to host the program that is being described as a mix of criminal justice issues and popular culture. Those of you who have followed Reynolds' career know that the new venture is a return to her roots. Reynolds began her TV career as a legal commentator on Court TV in 1991. She later went on to become one of the original co-hosts on ABC's "The View."

Interestingly, Reynolds told reporters that she would like to interview O'Donnell on her new show (anything for ratings, right).

"I don't have any reason to not want to sit down and chat with her," Reynolds said. "She's smart, she's funny, she's in your face - that's the kind of guest you want on the show."

Never mind that O'Donnell has long (and publicly) criticized Reynolds for skirting the subject of her rumored stomach surgery and mocking her for turning her back on the "fatties of the world."

Yeah, I wouldn't count on seeing O'Donnell on Reynolds' new show... ever!
