They’re Baaack! Old Favorites Returning to Primetime

Who knew a single zip code could help pay the bills for so many unemployed actors? CW’s new version of the classic teen hit “Beverly Hills, 90210,” is turning out to be quite a savior for some otherwise washed up primetime stars. Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling, who both appeared on the original show, have signed on to resurrect their characters of Kelly Taylor (who has grown up and become a high school guidance counselor at her alma mater West Beverly High School) and Donna Martin respectively. Now word has it that Joe E. Tata, a.k.a. Peach Pit owner Nat … Continue reading

How to Get a Piece of Bob Hope

How much would you pay for an autographed photo of Lucille Ball with some teeth blackened out or a money clip from Jack Benny? Would you shell out more if you knew the items once belonged to the legendary Bob Hope? The late comedian’s family sure hopes so. Bob Hope’s relatives are selling more than 800 of the funnyman’s prized possessions at a mid-October charity auction in Los Angeles. “Dad was a pack rat,” daughter Linda Hope recently told reporters. “He loved to collect things.” She isn’t kidding. The list of auction items left behind by the actor, who died … Continue reading

The Ultimate Christmas Present for “Knight Rider” Fans

Is there anyone who watched the popular ’80s TV series “Knight Rider” and didn’t want to have a KITT car of their own? I remember watching the show as a kid with my brothers. During the commercial breaks my two oldest brothers would grab their own Hot Wheels vehicles and pretend the cars could talk just like the black 1984 Pontiac Trans Am that helped David Hasselhoff escape the bad guys on TV. If I were independently wealthy I would try to make my brothers’ boyhood dreams come true this Christmas by purchasing one of the original KITTs for them. … Continue reading

Pop Culture Milestones: Cyborg Makes History and Bono Marries

I’ve said it before and I will say it again—-I am continually shocked by how much people are willing to shell out for pop culture memorabilia. Yet another auction record was broken last week when a cyborg skeleton from “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” brought in nearly $500,000 during a sale of Hollywood memorabilia. According to auction officials, the T-800 Endoskeleton used in the 1991 film brought in $488,750. Meanwhile, a full-scale tyrannosaurus rex head from “Jurassic Park” was the second priciest item of the day, raking in a cool $126,500. Other “Terminator” props brought in five and six digit figures … Continue reading

If you are looking for unique holiday gifts to give friends or relatives who loved Luther Vandross I have good news for you. The legendary singer, who died in 2005 at 54, lived large and now his prized possessions are going on sale. Which means not only can you listen to the award-winning crooner in the confines of your own home, you now have the chance to wear one of his diamond watches while you do so. Diamond watches, Picasso charcoal drawings, mink coats, crystal vases, and about 1,000 other items previously owned by the singing superstar are going up … Continue reading
