Is Aerosmith Looking for New Lead Singer?

There are certain things that just shouldn’t happen. The Mona Lisa shouldn’t smile, the Leaning Tower of Pisa shouldn’t be straighten, and Aerosmith shouldn’t perform with any lead singer other than Steven Tyler, but the last one may be a distinct possibility. In case you missed it, after months of speculation that he was using drugs again, Tyler checked into rehab at the end of last year. He had injured his leg during a concert in Connecticut in June 2009 then he fell off the stage on August 2009. The band cancelled several dates after the fall, but returned for … Continue reading

Finally, there appears to be light at the end of the tunnel for Madonna. The Material Girl’s bid to adopt 2-year-old David Banda is likely to be approved by a judge in a few days. Madonna’s journey to make the Malawian tot she found in an orphanage in 2006 a permanent member of her family has made headlines around the world and fueled an international debate about celebrities and adoption. Naomi Campbell Arrested…Again

I just do not understand what is up with modeling beauty Naomi Campbell. She is gorgeous, rich, and famous, yet something must be setting off these anger outbursts. Her rap sheet is longer than even the most diehard gansta rapper: In 2000, she pleaded guilty to a 1998 assault on Georgina Galanis, her own assistant. This assault included throwing Galanis from a moving car! The whole thing was dropped when Campbell expressed remorse, paid Galanis an unknown amount of money, and agreed to go to anger management classes. Not having learned much from the classes, Naomi was slapped (oops) in … Continue reading

The Sad Legacy of Rap Music

I recently blogged about rapper T.I., currently being held in jail on gun charges. He allegedly sent his bodyguard to purchase machine guns. Machine guns? Seriously, didn’t those go out of style with Prohibition? Who needs a machine gun in this day and age? I do enjoy listening to some rap music, but I also think some is pure trash. Anyhow, I started thinking about all the rappers lost to tragedy when I read today that rapper Big Moe had died at the age of 33 due to a heart attack. While his death was not related to violence, it … Continue reading

Hollywood Icons Live On

He’s an Academy Award-winner whose mark on Hollywood is still evident today. Actor Jimmy Stewart will be honored with a stamp bearing his face on Friday and you can join in on the festivities. The U.S. Postal Service will officially release the new Jimmy Stewart stamp at ceremonies in Pennsylvania and Hollywood. The Pennsylvania ceremony will be held at the Jimmy Stewart Museum in Indiana, the actor’s hometown. The other will be held at Universal Studios in Hollywood. Celebrities Turned Foodies

Usually it’s the other way around. Foodies or chefs are catapulted into stardom when enough of their to die for dishes become the talk of the town. (Think celebrity chefs Rachael Ray, Bobby Flay, and Paula Deen.) Enter Justin Timberlake. The singer turned fashion designer has just added a new line to his resume–restaurant owner. Timberlake (along with a posse of his celeb pals) brought some heat to the Big Apple last night by opening his new restaurant, Southern Hospitality. As its name suggests, the new eatery features southern comfort food with an emphasis on barbecue. Timberlake says he wanted … Continue reading

Actor’s Angry Rant At Young Daughter

If you’ve ever had the impression that most divorces are amicable affairs you must be unfamiliar with the details surrounding the demise of the marriage between actors Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger. The couple divorced in December 2001 after eight years of marriage, and it seems their bitter custody battle over their daughter Ireland has gone on just as long. For years the media has been following the pair’s highly contentious relationship and now it seems things have gone from bad to worse. According to news reports, the war between the spouses has taken another nasty turn. On Thursday an … Continue reading

Emmitt and Mario: Dancing Up a Storm

It is one of the most popular shows on television and tonight is the finale. I am talking of course, about “Dancing with the Stars.” Tonight, we find out who will win the title of Dancing King (there are no females in the finale). What a race it has been up to this point! Since the get-go, actor Mario Lopez and football great Emmitt Smith have had a great run – with a few exceptions. Emmitt stumbled a bit early on in the competition and Mario was chastised for breaking the rules of the Tango. But even a low score … Continue reading

Michael J. Fox vs. Rush Limbaugh

A few days ago I wrote about Michael J. Fox’s appearances in a slew of 30-second TV ads (airing on television and on the Internet) for five Democrats who support stem cell research. Many called the ads controversial, not because of the commercials’ subject matter, but because the subject speaking—Fox—is shown shaking and rocking as he directly addresses the camera, the effects of his disease clearly apparent. Shortly after the ads were aired commentator Rush Limbaugh claimed Fox was “either off his medication or acting” during the ad. In the days that followed Fox remained mum about Limbaugh’s comments, but … Continue reading
