Clint Eastwood Announces Retirement from Acting

His illustrious career in Hollywood has spanned more than a half-century, and according to 78-year-old movie legend Clint Eastwood, that’s enough. At least in regards to acting. Just a few days ago the Tinseltown icon announced that he plans to retire from acting. “You always want to quit while you are ahead,” Eastwood told Britain’s Sunday Express. “You don’t want to be like a fighter who stays too long in the ring until you’re not performing at your best.” Fortunately, there is some good news to report: Eastwood says by stepping away from acting projects he will have more time … Continue reading

Splitting and Quitting in Hollywood

SPLITTING Don’t look at Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, the handsome duo say they aren’t responsible for the split between Jimmy Kimmel and Sarah Silverman. The late-night TV host and his funny gal ladylove of five years just confirmed that they are no longer a couple much to the chagrin of a few magazine publishers who had pegged the two as one of the most solid couples in Hollywood. Insiders say the parting of ways comes on the heels of 39-year-old Kimmel’s admission that he would like to be a father “some day soon.” Silverman, 37, has long joked that … Continue reading

Pretty Girls Guest on “Ugly Betty”

They might be pretty on the outside but two big name divas preparing to make their debuts on ABC’s “Ugly Betty” this month have track records that call into question their inner beauty. First up: Supermodel Naomi “I-use-my-cellphone-to reach-out-and-touch-people-in-all-the-wrong-ways” Campbell. The former jailbird reportedly felt right at home on the fashion-friendly “Ugly Betty” set. But forget about how Campbell felt, I’m more interested in knowing how her notorious reputation preceded her on the job? Shockingly, nary a bad word was uttered about the diva’s guest stint. According to series regular Michael Urie, Campbell was “awesome” the entire time she shot … Continue reading

Is CBS Cutting Couric?

Even if that were their plan they certainly wouldn’t spin it that way. Instead, the brass at the eye network would make it appear to viewers that Katie Couric herself made the decision to leave her cushy anchor job for greener pastures. Enter the Wall Street Journal. The paper recently ran an article in which it quotes CBS News executives and a select group of Couric’s inner circle saying what insiders predicted was bound to happen sooner rather than later: The former “Today” show host is expected to leave her post at CBS Evening News shortly after the January 2009 … Continue reading
