Celebrity Updates—Ozzy’s Suce$$ful Garage Sale

In a previous blog I told you that Ozzy Osbourne was cleaning house. Like many stars before them, the rocker and his wife Sharon put hundreds of items up for bid in an online auction. But, no one could have predicted (auction experts included) that the Osbourne family’s excessive would make history. According to Julien’s Auction House, which ran the charity sale over the weekend, heavy metal fans were outbidding serious art dealers who specialize in high–end auctions. Ozzy’s loyal metalheads snatched up items, including a coat with embroidered bats, sneakers with skulls on them and one-of-a-kind sculpture by a … Continue reading

Celebrity “Believe It Or Not”

And you thought the prospect of having a Grammy award-winner sit next to you in college was hard to wrap your mind around, get a load of this next celebrity tidbit: New parents Tori Spelling and her husband Dean McDermott apparently have such a difficult time being away from each other that their agent has been told to shop them around as a team. YIKES! It’s true; they’ve had mild success with their last joint project–their Oxygen network reality series, Tori & Dean: Inn Love, based on their attempts at running a California B&B. Their other joint project (one that … Continue reading

The Ultimate Celebrity Yard Sale

I love a good yard sale and apparently, I missed THE yard sale of all yard sales last weekend. It was held at a $3.5 million dollar Montclair, New Jersey home where Michael Strahan, the New York Giants defensive end, used to live. Was Michael just trying to get rid of a few extra things? Maybe Michael was trying to earn a little extra money to help supplement that $20+ salary the Giants are paying him? Nope, turns out it is just another case of “hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.” I wonder if William Congreve, who wrote … Continue reading

Celebrity Baby News—Who’s Expecting The Next Little Star

Hollywood is preparing for a baby boom. This week some of my favorite celebrities announced they would be adding to their families in 2007. The announcement that surprised me the most came from award-winning director and actor Kevin Costner. According to news reports, Costner and his wife are expecting their first child together this summer. The actor wed 32-year-old Christine Baumgartner, near Aspen, Colorado, in September 2004. The wedding followed a long courtship that began in 1998. Despite an almost 20-year age difference, the two are reportedly “like little kids together, really in love,” a source told entertainment reporters at … Continue reading

The Art of the Garage Sale

Spring may still be a few months away, but I am already doing some major “spring cleaning.” We been out of town for a few weeks and I am only now trying to find a place for all of the goods we acquired over the holidays. I am a mom on a mission. My mantra: purge, purge, purge. If it were a few degrees warmer I would be planning a garage sale, but unfortunately we live an area where rummage sales go on a winter hiatus. So even if I posted a sign advertising a sale most people around here … Continue reading

Celebrity Garage Sale

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought that part of being rich and famous was that you happily avoided having to make money by selling your personal items on the street? Okay, the celebrity in question here is actress Tori Spelling… and yes, it’s true; she did inherit less than 1/300ths of her later father’s estate (TV mogul Aaron Spelling), but I can’t imagine she is facing skid row. Whatever the impetus may be, the now five-months pregnant ex-“Beverly Hills, 90210” star and her husband Dean McDermott are determined to sell her wares at her Studio City, California home … Continue reading

“Storage Wars” Mark Balelo Dies

My family loves “Storage Wars,” especially my eight-year-old son.  It is not uncommon to hear him running around my house yelling “Yuuup” like Dave Hester. I had to explain how Dave Hester, who is now suing A&E, isn’t going to be on the show anymore.  Hester is claiming that the whole show, based on people purchasing storage units that have been abandoned, is a sham and A&E plants valuable items in the units. Now, the show has suffered another tragedy that hopefully my son won’t notice.  Mark Balelo was a buyer that the show introduced in season 2.  A native … Continue reading

Spelling Says No to Donna Martin

Tori Spelling’s children will be seeing more of mommy this fall. According to reports, the actress has pulled out of the CW’s much hyped “Beverly Hills, 90210” spin-off. Shortly after the birth of her new daughter Spelling announced that she would be joining former original castmates Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty on the revamped teen drama, but just a few hours ago her rep issued a statement saying that the actress would no longer be reprising her role as Donna Martin. Why? It’s apparently all about the Benjamins… or in Spelling’s case, the lack thereof. According to US Weekly, the … Continue reading

They’re Baaack! Old Favorites Returning to Primetime

Who knew a single zip code could help pay the bills for so many unemployed actors? CW’s new version of the classic teen hit “Beverly Hills, 90210,” is turning out to be quite a savior for some otherwise washed up primetime stars. Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling, who both appeared on the original show, have signed on to resurrect their characters of Kelly Taylor (who has grown up and become a high school guidance counselor at her alma mater West Beverly High School) and Donna Martin respectively. Now word has it that Joe E. Tata, a.k.a. Peach Pit owner Nat … Continue reading
