Britney Spears---Free At Last

"Free at last. Free at last." I can only imagine that Britney Spears likely uttered a phrase similar to that upon checking out of Malibu's Promises treatment facility on Tuesday.

Yes, she's out... and about. Several media sources have reported that the "new and improved Britney" (we'll just see about that) has been quietly going about her life since completing her stint in rehab.

According to a Los Angeles newspaper, Spears' two young sons and their father Kevin Federline visited her the day she was sprung from Promises (though reports say that the children will remain with K-Fed until "he believes her rehab follow-through is working").

Last night the pop princess made her first public appearance since her 30-day rehab stint, and by all accounts it was remarkably uneventful.

According to PEOPLE magazine, Spears left her home to take a one-hour hip-hop class at a dance studio in North Hollywood. Witnesses tell the magazine that the singer wore "nude fishnet stockings with dance boots, black hot pants, a black long-sleeved shirt and baseball cap over her dark brown wig," during an advanced-level hip-hop class. (She's got to be using some strong wig adhesive and must be able to withstand some major head heat.)

The dance instructor told reporters that the pop star looked "fantastic" and "nailed" the choreography.

When her class was over Spears reportedly hung around to watch a master class from the VIP lounge. (A VIP lounge in a dance studio? Now that's Hollywood.) Later, reports say the paparazzi followed Spears to an upscale Japanese restaurant where she met up with three girlfriends to dine on sushi.

According to several newspapers, waiting photographers clocked her leaving the eatery at about 11:30 p.m.

Home by midnight (GASP!)? Could it be that Brit is actually done with her late night pantyless partying and on the road to normalcy? (Normal for most moms anyway.) Or, is this just the rehab honeymoon phase? What do you think?
